1. Bah, I hate percentages.

Doing a 2009 non-calc past paper and got everything correct except from this one percentage question. Wooh !

Anyway I can't get why my answer is incorrect.

The question is as follows :
This year, Ben paid £260 for his car insurance.
This is an increase of 30% on his last year's payment.
How much did Ben pay last year ?

I've seen the marking scheme and the answer is 200, done by 260/1.3, which is fair enough.

But in my method where have I gone wrong :
260=130%
26=10%
26*3=78=30%
260-78= 100 %
£182

Any ideas ?

The first bit is right 260=130%
but then 10% does not equal 26 it equals 20 (as you divide 260 by 13 to get the 10%)

3. Oh. Woops.
4. Just finished Latin revision, been up since 7 to do it but hey, it had to be done !

I'm hoping to do a Maths Past Paper and then do some last minute English revision for the exam tomorrow.

But I think I deserve a break, so if you don't mind, I'm off to play some Pokémon.

Up since 7 to do latin? Isnt that not a bit much considering that you only need to know a few techniques for each poem and a bit of simple translation?
6. I've learnt every single poem by heart, not just a few techniques.
7. You lot get to pick more interesting subjects I.e. Latin and three sciences I would love to do Latin but French is compulsory and they don't even offer it at all, I don't think in any year group and three sciences I yearn to do physics too Ahah

Aw man, English tomorrow should be fun good luck everyone

12. Writing went great, general reading was alright, pretty easy. Credit was harder than I anticipated but I still think I got a 1

13. That's great writing wasn't what I had hoped I ran out of time so my essay wasn't structured as ambitious as my plan put it plus I was reaching what I felt was a pivotal point in it especially with reflection for me but I never got to fully accomplish it if it lasted 1 hour and 30 mins I believe I could have completed happily what question did you do? I did 14 first time on a plane but I made it sound as if I were older than my first time which was 6 months aha I hope I get a 1 including all my folio in August but I, starting to worry

14. Thanks. Unlucky you didn't get to finish. I don't ever really write that much anyway so I always finish on time, haha. I did question, a time about when you were frightened. Don't worry, you can't change anything now and just believe that you've done your best.

Oo "tradition" reminds me of english see that question about the taxi driver for Anne in credit did you lot put "tradition" for the own words for his repeating behaviour after every trip (I forgot the given expression)

I think the one you are talking about is the: "a custom year" question. Not sure if that is exactly what the phrase was but yeah "tradition" works perfectly fine. For chemistry, in our class assessments I usually get a 1 for PS and 2 for KU, although when I practice with past papers it's always a 2/2. Probably need to focus on the mole equations and names of specific reactions - no socialising for the next 24 hours I reckon.
