I started playing violin at 10 but my mum couldn't bear the sound so I had to stop within a few days
Electric violins are very cool! They sound epic when doing covers of stuff!

No, I stopped having lessons after grade 6 and just had quick 'revision' sessions before my actually exams to get me up to speed for 7 and 8 :yep:
I did have organ lessons for about 18 months before my Cambridge interview but I stopped those in September too

You know how you could practice your sax technique, right?
Haha oh no! I had to stop because we couldn't find a teacher for me where we were living at the time  Yeah and the benefit of some of them is you can plug headphones in and practise silently. And if I'm going to be living in uni accommodation that's kind of a need!

Wow impressive

No, do enlighten me

Have you applied this year or are you having another whole year off?

Why is having lessons impressive?

Also, you could practice your bow technique too :pierre:

Application deadline for 2014 entry in Germany is June, so I still have a lot of time.

No, I meant you not having lessons was impressive.

Oh, I didn't realise you wanted to study there too I thought you were coming back home!

Oh. I think it's not too difficult if you have a good teacher early on

Also, you could practice the double bass and kill 2 birds with one stone :pierre:

You should, I'd love to watch you perform.

(I've seen you around TSR and noticed you went to the same uni as me)

I play the guitar and sing too but I'm not too great at playing the guitar yet
Thanks!

Oh cool, I've been thinking of doing The Hook at the Lakeside Theatre sometime soon are you still there or have you graduated?

practice makes perfect! I've been playing for a few years and I still mess up all the time.

Fine, but only if I can bring my tin whistle (would sound way better than flute!)

My harp is in C so I'm not sure how they would sound together :erm:

I have flute recordings played with harp, although I do usually stick to piano accompaniment myself

But yep, I'd agree that in this instance sax might be the way to go

Well there's this, which is the most recent full song I recorded.
https://soundcloud.com/roscoe-1/caer-caradoc-boudicca
Everything you hear is performed me (even the drums, which I suck at!)

And I did this just now, it's a medley of two very well known songs in a fingerstyle acoustic manner:

Did this back in June, think I've improved since then though! Not overly technical but yeah :P Oh, and I've had a haircut since then!

And here's a track from my solo black metal project which I'm hoping to re-record properly, and one with real as opposed to programmed drums:

This thread is basically just to hear what those on TSR are playing/composing etc. I got this idea recently when I recorded myself playing the piano for another member to listen to.

I think it would be awesome if we could put together a few pieces for everybody to enjoy!

Obviously, being the OP, the ball's in my court so there are some recordings here to get the ball rolling.
My midi likes to screech a little so sorry about that. Although, some of the recordings are not so bad.

Anyway, I hope we get some contributions!
