Can I ask how old you are?

There are so many people who don't have that much money but they still get by. There is support available like benefits so that you could try to manage.

Referring to your question, no I wouldn't marry for just money. Though I would love to go on holidays and not worry about money, these are at the end of the day desires. I know you're referring to stability, but wouldn't you rather struggle a little with someone you love than be comfortable with someone you don't love?
Anyway I hope you decide on what's best for you.

Unbelievable. It's incredible to me that some womens' ambition in life is to be a kept woman.

It makes me quite mad sometimes; my brother works full-time in a really hard job (he's a detective back in Aus, investigates organised criminals, arrests outlaw motorcycle gang members, drug traffickers, that kind of stuff), and there's a lot of overtime involved, stakeouts, etc. He has a wife and a young daughter, and ludicrously, he does a lot of the housework as well. He does a lot of the cleaning, washing up, often cooking. He's a fantastic father, and my sister-in-law is just tremendously lazy.

There are so many men who just put up with this kind of nonsense. And it is damning to many women that they have no real ambition in life other than living off a man

Ignore all those who babble on about pride. It's your life and you can do what you want. There's nothing shameful in being a housewife. Do whatever you feel comfortable with.
She's perfectly welcome to do what she's comfortable with, but she shouldn't expect us to applaud her for her laziness and lack of ambition

This is just ****ed up. Why are girls so materialistic? "I can easily marry a rich guy if I wanted" and thus have an easier lifestyle.
Well said. I also suspect she is massively overrating how attractive she would be in the marriage market.

Rich guys don't want a depressed, unhealthy wife who would just mope around the house and demand money

I'm sorry, where did she ask for people to applaud her? The thread is titled "would you marry for money?". Simple yes or no question.

 That is hilarious. A question starting with "where", by definition, cannot be a yes or no question. Too funny

The OP might have asked that as the headline question, but she was clearly seeking people to tell her that she's not a bad person for considering dumping her boyfriend because she doesn't want to work and wants him to pay for her to do nothing all day. She also wanted us to say that it's okay that she has no ambition in life, no serious professional goals, other than to be provided for as a kept woman

And the answer is, yes; she's an exceptionally greedy and superficial creature. She wants to parasite off a man and has an extraordinary sense of entitlement to believe she is owed a living simply because she has a vagina.

And she is deluded if she thinks a rich man will marry her. Rich men tend not to want to marry women who are sick, lazy and depressed

You've edited the middle sentence from my post, how hilarious. That's not what I said. The question in the thread title doesn't start with "where". It says "Would you marry for money". It is a yes or no question.

Honestly, I don't care what OP's intention was. I never said I agreed with what she stated in her first post, I don't. The only reason I'm defending her is because she has a right to want to be a housewife without being labelled a "leech" or a "parasite".

There's a difference between wanting to be a housewife (which is not exactly a noble or lofty goal in itself), and saying you will break up with your boyfriend because he is not rich enough, and marry a rich man.

This woman literally has no ambitions in life, and she seems to believe she is owed a living simply because she has a vagina. It is not a goal worthy of kudos to simply want a man to take care of you. And given her attitude, I question whether she would really be a good mother, or simply want a nanny to take care of the kids while she goes out shopping spending her husband's money.

Finally, she has a right to aspire to live off a man. She has no right to aspire to that, while openly talking about dumping her boyfriend because he doesn't earn enough money (while she herself contributes nothing), and then complain when people call her a parasite and a leech. Frankly she does sound like a parasite and a leech.

And rich men often are not particularly interested in women who have nothing to offer them. I don't know whether she's good looking, but I doubt she is stunning. And she's also not well educated, she's sick and depressed, and lazy. A rich man is usually more interested in a woman who is fit, athletic, good-looking and usually has a modicum of education (i.e. an undergraduate degree)

She has an unjustifiably high opinion of herself, and I wouldn't be surprised if this is actually a male misogynist troll, and you've been sucked into defending the position of a troll which was designed to make women look bad. Why would you defend that?

    LOL LOL

its funny how some of you seemed to get your knickers in a right twist over a simple question. .it really seems to ignite your fire and rant and call some Anonymous stranger over the internet names like leech, parasite etc. Again you are welcome to say what you like. I really am not fussed.

FYI to the person who said I am looking for people to agree with me and want sympathy..
State FACTs aka what a person ACTUALLY says rather than ASSUMPTIONs based on your thoughts

    I welcome all opinions answers.

you guys really don't need to go so deep into me as a person.. why waste your energy over the internet. just give simple answer or no answer.

I agree; barring the situation where one partner is genuinely needed at home, how someone can be a glorified parasite and retain their self-respect is baffling.
    I completely agree with, Birkenhead.

This woman seems to believe she is owed a living because she has a vagina. And based on what she has said, I question whether she'd be a good mother either. I imagine she'd just want the nanny to take care of the kids while she goes out shopping and spending her husband's money.

Now, that's fine if she wants to do that. But she shouldn't expect us to applaud her and say we don't think she's a money-sucking leech and a parasite.

Finally, it's incredible to me that she thinks a rich man will marry her. I don't know how good looking she is, but I doubt she is a stunner. Furthermore, as she has made clear, she is lazy, depressed and physically unwell. She is also not well-educated, she doesn't have even an undergraduate degree.

It's incredible that she thinks a rich man would want her. Rich men, if they are not marrying just for love, usually want women who are fit, athletic, very attractive and well educated. The OP is deluding herself that she is in this category, though she has probably read loads of Mills and Boon *******s that turned her into an entitled princess

    OMG MOST CIVILISED

I question your username. You have said so much about 'me' someone you do not know. its acutally quite hilarious. I am not going to argue with you.

    Listen to my advise..

Don't waste your energy by digging into a person you do not know

FYI you know nothing about me and my bf. my bf knows how I stand with finance.. and he wants to provide for me in the future just as much as I want to support him as his spouse.

Too long, didn't read. Like I said, I don't agree with OP on several things but that doesn't mean I'm going to sit here and call her a parasite. However I will defend her right to be a housewife as she has every right to be one. Goodbye and have a nice day.

Are you saying you're not a leech/parasite? What would you bring to a marriage match with a rich man? You're not well educated, you're also depressed and physically unwell, and it's unlikely you're exceptionally attractive. You also have an attitude and sense of entitlement that many rich men woudl find extremely repulsive.

On what basis do you say you could go and marry a rich man? Why would they want you? Where will you meet them?

    I welcome all opinions answers.
My opinion is that you're lazy, you don't really have any creditable ambitions in terms of having a profession or a career. Your only qualification, as far as I can see, is that you have a vagina

I'm sorry 250-odd words is too complex and too long for you. That's okay, I understand that we all have to operate at our own intellectual level.

However I will defend her right to be a housewife as she has every right to be one.
She has a "right" to be a housewife? So you're saying the government should force a man to marry her and provide for her? That would be a right, something you can vindicate in court. She has no right to force any man to marry her or provide for her, it can only be done by mutual consent.

And based on her attitude, I suspect she will struggle to find her fantasy rich man who will marry a sick, depressed and physically unwell woman with a tremendous sense of entitlement, who brings no family name/prestige, no wealth to the match.

Goodbye and have a nice day.
Good day to you too, madam.

    Oh really? In what field?

looking to become fully specialised in my field with further education if my health permits me to
And you expect a man to simply fund you no matter what, as if you have some right to be provided for.

You say you could "marry a rich man easily". How? Why would they want damaged goods (i.e. depressed, physically unwell, massive sense of entitlement etc)?

like I am going to disclose what my career is that is private not to disclose to strangers over the internet

FYI who says anything about anyone funding me for uni.. I have been saving for 1.5 years just in case I get into uni again.. or to put towards a deposit equally in future if uni plans do not work out and bf gets good job we get married and then we both can buy a house and get settled

anyway I love how you say I am this I am that.. its actually just hilarious rather than anything how you spew so much hatred on to a stranger.

anyway this is tiring y'all. good day.
