You'd have to be ******ed to misspell Adam, however, my surname (Leonard) is often mispronounced as Leo-nard (meant to be Len-uhd).

No one spells my last name right, it's Allin. Whenever I tell people who are writin down i say "Chris Allin, A, double L, I, N."
Still always gets spelt with an e though.

People can't pronounce my first or last name. Come to think of it, they can't spell them either

People usually have to hear me repeat my name before they can say it.

Sometimes even when it's written down they totally miss pronounce it using sounds of letters that aren't even in my name.

My name's Holly Maria, and my dad's from Nazareth in Palestine, the same town as Jesus and Mary  So people call me Holy Mary. And I won't even begin on my last name!
Please tell me it's Christie or Christiansen! Holy Mary Christ!

Oh and I have friends with surnames: Senczyszyn and Pietkiewicz, so you can guess they have millions of misspelling/mispronunciations!

Also, I must confess that I know I don't pronounce my surname the way it's really supposed to - I think it's because I don't have a Nigerian accent.
I also occasionally spell it wrong! :ninja: Especially when typing.

But I get riled when I'm called Joanne even 10 seconds after I've told someone my name is Joanna.
I once got into a lot of trouble for calling my friend Joanna, Joanne.

My friends name was oukia pronounced waa-ki-yah

People used to call her Oo-ki-ah
She was never very pleased.
waa-ki-yah? Isn't the same pronounciation as the word "wackier"? LOL! I'd be happy to be called by a less wacky name if that was my name, I really wouldnt take offense when people didnt call me more strange. :p:

My surname is Hempenstall. I swear no one can ever pronounce it or spell it right. Common mistakes are heppenstall, hempencil (how, i do not know lol), hempenstool etc.

i get that..... my name is probably hard to say for some people... and spelling, must be very hard for them...... iv had to change the prnounciation of my name, and make one of the letters silent, so people can say it..but due to that they end up spelling it wrong..and asking why is called that, but thats written there, so people here in England, around college.
