# AQA Physics PHYA4 - 20th June 2016 [Exam Discussion Thread] Watch

Ah well, damn, I misread it and got 200 (2sf).

Can I get 1/3 for that?
I doubt it lol

what was the answer to the momentum of the alpha particle:
I remember getting the KE as 1.00 x10^something then the speed was like 7.something x 10^ something then cant remember whether I stupidly divided or correctly multiplied by the mass to find momentum.

Also what did your graphs look like for the one about field strength?
My graph started from 9.81 and went down to 0 closer to venus, in the shape of like a cos graph. And then it went up like the start of a sin graph to 8.87

In the grade boundaries for last years paper it says
PHYA4 PHYSICS A UNIT 4 75 54 49 45 41 37 33
PHYA4/1 PHYSICS A UNIT 4 - OTQ 25 19(A) 12
PHYA4/2 PHYSICS A UNIT 4 - WRITTEN 50 30(A) 21
Does that mean that you have to get both 19/25 in section A and 30/50 in section B to get an A?
I think you just need the total to be above the A boundary, so you could get 18 and 31.

As long as you get 54/75, it shouldn't matter how you get them

With the turning point closer to Venus, right?

Attachment 553448did everyones graph look like this????
Mine did.
7. (Original post by C0balt)
I doubt it lol

What did you graph look like for g potential?
8. i neeeeed an unofficial mark scheme or else I wont sleep tonight so hard
9. (Original post by C0balt)
I doubt it lol
If I showed all my working?

Attachment 553448did everyones graph look like this????
Was it suppose to touch the x-axis? mine didnt go all the way down but same shape

???
11. wasn't it an electric field strength graph? so electric field strength is zero at some point, right?
12. (Original post by Beautywithabrain)
Mine did.
Ah man I don't think I took it to zero! 😮 Clearly wasn't thinking tor most of this exam!
13. AQA can actually write a nice exam paper!!!! I thought that was absolutely brilliant!!!
Even better: the 6 marker was great!

HALLELUJAH!

On a high for C3 revision now!
14. As long as 44 is not a U grade
15. (Original post by Beautywithabrain)
Mine did.
dammit , no , I drew them as exponentials but roughly that shape but doesn't hit o for g
16. Omg was N the mass of the original nucleus or the daughter nucleus?
I put advan is the EM brakes wont wear down as much as the other ones with the pads
And dis EM brakes nore expensive?? Idk i dont think got either of them ahaha
18. (Original post by C0balt)
I doubt it lol
Oh and what was the answer to when the current is the least in the tick box???? I put when the rate of dissipation of energy is greatest??

???
I did the same. I think we might lose a mark there. It must be zero at some point
