Can't believe the Edexcel boundaries for units 5 Chemistry nd biology,

69 for a flipping A?!? They cant just jump from numbers like 56 and 61 to ****ING 69!

Is the class of 1994/95 A bunch of mini geniuses or something.

Every a2 exam ive done has had the paper assigned the highest grade boundaries in its history, (January 73 For an A in Edexcel chemistry 4) And its happened again!

    Honestly can't believe my luck.

Sorry, I was planning not to look at grade boundaries, but I jsut saw this...

Biology, 69 out of what? For an A?! Not even an A*????????

    Isn't it 69 for an A* not A?

Same S1 is worrying me, Cambridge look heavily on that for Econ according to the Corpus Admissions tutor.

I think there was a question on protectionism early one. Like 1b, I may be wrong though. The macro economics objective one was a bit ok, definitely harder than the other questions but yeah, what's done is done.
I don't get why S1 gets looked heavily tbh. A couple of UMS marks in it means nothing! Just the ability to not make silly mistakes and plug numbers into formulas. I think anything 90+ should be good enough for Economics.

So far as I'm aware, grade boundaries for most exams remain pretty static. It isn't overly normal practice for any board (except maybe OCR) to normalise and use standard deviations to determine grade boundaries.

They're low for June exams. Usually in January, A boundary is about 65% and in June 85% so now it's in the middle, it's perfect

you can't at the moment as it's updating. I'd ring them up, it's quicker that way.

Why the hell do OCR never lower their grade boundaries for economics? They are pretty much always the same. I'm failing this crappy subject again.

Does anyone else feel that the AQA Chem2 grade boundaries are pretty high considering that the paper wasn't exactly easy? (77/100 for an A)

Has anyone else noticed that AQA have whacked up the Physics ISA grade boundaries this year for the first time in ages, cheeky *******s! And the Unit 1 grade boundaries are stupidly high
