1st win under Klopp. Also a clean sheet, but Bournemouth gave us a good game, Bodgan made great saves. Ibe and Firmino was great too.

Origi did well for the first goal and the attempt at the end but other than that he was generally anonymous which is worrying. He can't even hold the ball up properly, Benteke can't come back soon enough, the young lad needs some time to sit out and observe how Benteke gets involved.

Klopp said Sturridge unlikely and he is pretty sure on Benteke playing v Chelsea.

Man City are favourites, we're probably 2nd favourites and then Everton/Southampton next.

Not the best draw for us..

    Unfortunately I'd have to agree.

Soton are at home and they will likely be favourites to win unless we suddenly learn how to score goals.
It's a big ask to win the Cup but with a good number of big teams already out, it's much more realistic now.

My post above was from a fan perspective not really a betting odds view, but yeah I know what you mean.
It's just that Soton at home are extremely tough to beat and Pelle's form there is ridiculous so it's hard not to see them as favourites.

Klopp will only makes us better and better (which he has already displayed defensively) but such a thing takes time and I'm unsure whether we'll be quite good enough by the time we play the next round in just over a month.

Well by that logic you might as well go out of the CL and FA Cup then...

I'm not hugely fussed about Southampton in the league cup. Yes they're a good side and we could've had an easier draw but if you're in the QF and later, you're more likely to face decent sides.

Southampton are doing no better than us at the moment (same points in the league and QF of League Cup) and there home form currently isn't anything to write home about. Not saying we're going to beat them but it's easily 50/50 and we've still got another month till that match for players to settle under Klopp and hopefully some others to return from injury.

Now to look forward to the Chelsea game!! Really hope we beat them  A 6 point lead over them at this point in the season would be awesome.

Don't see why we wouldn't beat them. Refreshingly solid at the back and we have enough to nick a goal.
