[QUOTE=TAN 118;44897039]Hi everyone! I am staying in liberty prospect point now. The soundproofing system here is very poor. My flatmates are very noisy and I cannot focus on my studies and also I do not sleep well.

Should I change to another room?

Hi I live in a private house 5 mins walk from the uni. I am transferring uni so I need someone to take over my room. Its all inclusive £53 a week all paid till January. I live with three other males, the house is split between 3 floors so there's absolutely no problem with noise. Message me if you're interested. Nathan.

phone both UCAS and the university to get this changed, there must have been an error on the application form.

Anyone else thinking of applying to Liberty Prospect Point? The rooms look really nice and the kitchen looks huge (for students). Only gripe is the lack of double beds, I suppose single will do

My girlfriend lives in a liberty living owned student living, and this one in Liverpool looks like an upgraded version of hers!

Hello,
If you want to stay for only one semester here I have a room available close to the campus and the center. Basically, I have to go back to my country and I need someone to replace me in the contract
The offer is open!

I would recommend Greenbank. I am an undergraduate and the accommodation and the social aspect is great.

So, I've just got into LIPA, which I couldn't be happier about - my biggest problem is just finding student accommodation.

A lot of people have said Agnes Jones is good for meeting other LIPA students but that's as far as it goes, I've heard (and seen!) some not very nice things about the place. I'm a little bit daunted by it, because while I'm all for the social life that Agnes Jones offers, I want somewhere that I'll actually like living.

I'm just wondering if there's any Liverpool students that can recommend anywhere good to live that's affordable and actually good for social life? Also, not too far from LIPA?

As Liverpool is my insurance choice I was invited to apply for accommodation. Had a look and decided to apply to Crown place self catered en-suite

Anyone else applied here?

I've been trying to apply since I got the email at half 12 yesterday and I'm still getting 'an error has occurred message'. Is this because I haven't yet put it as my firm/ conditional choice or is it a fault with the site?

Hey, I've also got an offer for LIPA too! What course are you going to be on? I will be on Sound Technology?

I'm thinking Agnes Jones at the moment too as it's the cheapest, seems the most social and with most of the LIPA students going to it. I've also been looking at Grenville Street which is much nicer but is a little more expensive and has alot more students from other unis going from what I've seen. Agnes Jones does seem to be the most appealing for me.

Keep in touch

That's awesome! I'm going to be on Community Drama, but I've heard we all need to know other people from other courses, so it's good to start early haha! :P

Yeah, the second years I was talking to on my audition day said that Agnes Jones was the cheapest and best place to meet other students from LIPA, another student said she stayed at Grand Central where she met people from other universities but made friends with them, plus the rooms are bigger there and they're ensuite and I think that's £110 a week, so only £17 more than Agnes Jones, but I'm sure you understand the huge dilemma I'm having!

Will definitely keep in touch, it'll be nice to know another future LIPA student.

That very well may be true but looking at Grand Central it seems like a decent work to get to LIPA from while Grenville St and Agnes Jones are much closer.

I understand you would like somewhere nice to be and such but I see it from the point of view that being the most social within the first year will be the best option for me even if I have to share bathrooms, not the best rooms etc.. From there I will have friends for the rest of my time in university and even afterwards so I see the first year as crucial really. I think Agnes Jones will help be as social as possible, especially with LIPA students who I think I will get along with best and are best to know contact wise!

I found Grand Central on my audition day, and it's not too hard to get to - it's good for social life with out of LIPA students, but I've been thinking maybe a few posters and pictures would brighten up an Agnes Jones room, and like you said, it's best to know other students from the university in the first year, I just hope they're patient enough to wait for a shower if I beat them to it haha!

I think Grenville Street was where a friend that I work with at the moment lived, I was talking to him about it yesterday because he was at LIPA too. Better get some more research done into it!

I'm in a house on Smithdown Road with Elgin Management - they are student houses run by ex students so they pretty much give you what you want... They are great.... give them a call and see if they have any houses left - couple up with a few people and stay in a house.. its much cheap than staying in halls.... you can spend it on more booze then haha!

Interesting although the closest houses nearest to my university are at least 35 minutes walk away meaning that I would have to travel by bus to the university mostly and when lectures are everyday then I wouldn't be saving any money? After travel costs and utility costs I won't be saving any money compared to student halls only a street or two away from my university where I can socialise with students in the whole building.

I got a nice offer from Liverpool University to study Architecture which is my favourite place for the course especially in terms of studying. Recently they gave me an email to apply for accommodation and I'm kind of undecided... The huge factors for me in deciding the accommodation is it being catered, how convenient it is for studying and how sociable and easy it is to make friends and get along with people there. I also would like the accommodation to look and feel nice. I guess I'm being a bit picky but from hearing other Architecture students experiences, it seems that they constantly go in and out of the studio to work and so having to use busses might be a bad choice. I also play a lot of badminton so would like to be not too far from a gym or badminton court ( but this is only as an extra thing when choosing the accommodation). I was quite interested in Greenbank but would that be too far away? I also heard that getting the bus was extremely difficult so would it be easier to bike or live nearby? If any of you have also experienced the accommodation I would also like to hear your views of the accommodation, how easy it was to get along with people and if you do the Architecture course; how easy was it to do work where you stayed? Thanks for the help in advance, Tom
