    The Perfect Storm?
    Rings a bell!

How you could recognise it from my weird half-remembered description, I'm not even sure. Well done :yep:

    La Strada.

For some reason, it inspired a feeling of doom and downtroddenness in me.

I'd say The Pianist, Dancer in the Dark and Requiem for a Dream. American Beauty sort of depressed me as well. But all four of them are really beautiful films.

    Never Let me Go.
There was nothing happy about this film... It was sad, depressing and miserable almost entirely from start to finish. When it ended (in the cinema), rather then jumping up to leave, everyone stayed where they were because they had lost the will to live. We all cried.

    God, so depressing.
ahhhhh yes!!! nearly forgot about this!

I felt A Serbian Film was quite cool.
However, Ondskan and City of War: story of John Rabe were both quite depressing.

The boy in the striped pyjamas.
Couldn't bear to watch it twice.
This. Most depressing film I've ever seen. And the music just made it even more beautifully sad.

    Trainspotting.

Great film but at points gets really depressing.

Like when the baby dies due to neglect by the Heroin addict mother and turns all blue. The mother then cries her heart out before taking another dose of Heroin to alleviate the pain whilst the baby lays dead on the floor.

Haven't seen it but was told the story of it by a friend. Seriously toxic stuff. Would never go near it.

    that is one grim film...
Could not agree more. Had to watch it in GCSE R.S. It took everything I had not to just walk out of the room, it was so depressing.
