I read an article in the Independent a few weeks ago, and the guy wrote the line 'There's no secret room of smart people', and although it's not technically advice, I think it's a pretty good thing to keep in mind, that everyone is pretty much making it up as they go along.

My politics teacher before we left gave us three pieces of advice:
Stay away from Credit cards, travel the world and...I cant remember the third one:P I think it was find something to be passionate about or being kind idk

Also I think just in general following your dreams, knowing how to spot Douchebags, doing something a day that your "good deed or/and makes you proud

Plus this is a particular fave of mine. Esp about the clothes and being nice to Waiters!

I got sick last year and was off work for over a month... I decided to make a big life change.... quit my job, take some time out and try something new...

I found this quote during that time:

"New beginnings are often disguised as painful endings...." Lao Tzu

It provided the perfect reframe and gave me a whole new perspective.... yes shingles was super painful but it gave me the opportunity to close one chapter and start another, I have never been happier

Probably won't mean much to anybody here but the best advice I have ever been given is to 'treat myself as I would treat my daughter'.
