# WTF was that C1 exam... watch

1. (Original post by Angus1997)
k = 11 for that question and the total salary was in the 500000s
I remember it being year k = 32,0000
2. (Original post by Angus1997)
probably, what did u get as the gradient of the tangent ?
the normal was -1/2 and the tangent was 2 so i worked it out and got 9/6
3. [QUOTE=Frostyjoe;55738247]K, 2K, 3K, 5K and 9K or something.[/QUOTE
OMG i just realized instead of using Un i used the previous term -_- and got k,2k,3k,4k,5k :/
4. what did you guys get for 1b?

lol yeah for Vn+2 it was k,2k,3k,4k,5k
The Un+2 all of them were 4

So for the sum of the first 20 terms I got 20*4=80

I remember it being year k = 32,0000
do you mean at year k they earnt 32000 because that is correct
7. (Original post by Thxmas)
K=11 and something like 557500.
I got 11 and ended up getting 488,500.... how many amrks would i lose? I did Sn(11)= Answer + (9X32000)

wait so was i right ?

what did you guys get for 1b?
-1/8sqroot3-3/8

Obviously wrong as it said a and b are integers

Well a lot of people were saying that 2 questions had k = 11

and k+2k+3k+4k+5k-165
15k=165
k=11 thats what a lot of people got
11. Guys, did you get 577000 ( something like that) for the total salary?
12. that question was horrible.... wt do u guys rekon the grade boundary is gonna be
13. Was definitely harder than normal but I think last years papers were harder. Hoping for about 90UMS

yh you should get full marks. bit of a sneaky question that one, originally i worked out the x coordinate with -1/2 but then realized that was the normal grad and had to use the reciprocal (2)

**** MY LIFE

I was hoping for near full UMS and I wasn't expecting such a solid paper where it was so easy to slip up.

Honestly I ****ed up the P^2 inequality, total salary, 10b and a few others, partly because I didn't have enough time because they were such weird answers I kept double checking to see if they were right!

so upset I can't even lie, my own fault but damn edexcel why you do this
I messed up on those questions too but for the p question don't you get a mark for removing p out of the bracket? :s hopefully there's follow through marks in the total salary question

16. what was the answer for the simultaneous equation
17. 11
18. (Original post by Angus1997)
do you mean at year k they earnt 32000 because that is correct
yes the year k was 32000, they wanted k
so knowing year 1 is 17000 and d=1500

17000+(k-1)1500= 32000

(k-1)15000=15000

k-1 = 10

However I have a horrible feeling I put something like 8 down.
k=11
19. (Original post by Dieselblue)
-1/8sqroot3-3/8

Obviously wrong as it said a and b are integers
i think it was 3 + 2root10,
20. Sorry if this sounds stupid, but are the grade boundaries based on simply the percentage of students who say got over the 60 mark.. so if loads of people got over 60 then the grade boundary for an A would be high and vice versa..is that how they work is there more to it?
