With all this talk about a black Diwali going on I thought Diwali was a hindu celebration so why do Sikhs also celebrate it? Or am i completely off the mark?
Sikhs, don't, not actual Sikhs, but those who go around idol worshipping do,

Sikhs have Bandi Chor Divas which relates to when Dhan Guru Hargobind Badshah was released from Gwalior by Mughal Jahangir

Though due to the issues in Punjab, it's not going to be celebrated.

So its infact a sort of black Bandi Chor Divas for sikhs but Diwali is the more general term used?

Those whom are uneducated about Sikhi, use the term Diwali, those who follow Sikhi know it's not Diwali but Bandi Chor Divas.

so why not call it Black Bandi Chor Divas?

According to you if Diwali is a hindu festival why put a 'black' against it to give it a negative connotation .
