no, its not a preference. transwomen are women. thats it. if you wont date a transwoman because she is trans, thats transphobic. not all transwomen even have penises.

transwoman = woman. transwomen are real women.

    (also - see intersex)
An you an idoit? Transwoman are not 'real' women!, I don't understand why you can't get that in your head.
Does a transwomen have a real vagina and the ability reproduce? No, therefore there not real women.

    then you respect that?

oh dont be a dumb twit. thats not the meaning of phobia in this context and if you had two bloody brain cells youd know it. consider it to be the same type as in homophobia (and if youre going to argue thats a fear too, im afraid youre beyond saving)
and "every other rational male"? ouch. give males more credit than that. most of them are better than you.

transwoman = woman. transwomen are real women.

stop trying to be a smartass - she is a woman. end of. to say she is a man, or to call her a he, is absolutely disrespectful and there is no way around that.
    (also - see intersex)
What if people start identifying as animals, as a cow (I guess many women already do haha) or a bird. Does that make them a bird or cow? What if they identify as a rock? Should we then consider them to actually be a rock?
Let's say it now 99.99% of men would be disgusted and would never be with a transgender woman. If that makes 99.99% of men transphobic then we will have to take it.
Let's say that heterosexual people are attracted to the opposite sex, not gender. That makes the problem go away, the transwoman is a man considering the sex so it's now not even considered transphobic.
Also you claim that not all transwomen have penises. Do you still expect ANY straight male to want to be with a transwoman with a penis? That's crazy and most men will find that truly disgusting. Your ideas and views are really crazy, really crazy.

Yeah no. A transgender woman is not a real woman, sorry to burst your liberalised bubble. They cant procreate and give birth to life. They think they are something theyre not.
as said before by others, some women assigned female at birth cannot procreate and all of them stop being able to at some point. bad and overused argument.
    they are real women. sorry

are you sure youre not the real "idoit"?

the reach for your first point is so far its embarrassing honestly i dont even know if i can dignify that load of bs with a response
as said before, some transwomen are also women by sex, too. if someone doesnt feel attraction to pensises and therefore doesnt want to have sex with someone with a penis regardless of their gender, thats understandable. however, to put all transwomen off the table is transphobic because not all transwomen even have penises.
and i dont know if its news to you but relationships can occur without sex!! shocking i know you can take a minute if you need it

They do not look the same as a natural woman down below as I have said- even though facially and upper body wise they might look close to a natural woman (some very much so that it could be convincing). You must agree this now changes your view about the underlined... I think the biggest misunderstanding on this whole thread was this fact... otherwise everybody would be laughing- I don't think even the OP knew this o/w he would know it was not a great troll- or maybe he did and was testing how much people knew about this?- lol how it feasible to totally reconstruct any animal's sexual reproductive organs and surgically replace it with that of the opposite sex .
Sorry, the only thing this proves is that you don't know what a vagina looks like. They come in a variety of forms, and if you have a quick Google, you'll find that they can and often do look like natural women below - in many cases more so than the rest of their bodies in fact, because that is often the one bit they must get surgery for, since it is the one thing that HRT will not provide. And it's 2k16, surgeons are pretty good at what they do.

The fact that the OP did not realise, over two full years (and would not have realised had someone not told him), that this girl used to be a guy, validates that. So the issue is not physical at all, it is psychological and moral, and the issues lie not with this girl, but with the OP.

LOTF perhaps you should just stick to maths?
Oh that's cheap. This whole thing is a matter of opinion - otherwise this thread wouldn't be 7 pages long. Evidently some of those opinions here are ignorant, many are transphobic, and others are better informed and/or progressive. So not only is that a snide, unnecessary comment, it also does not apply to this sort of discussion at all.

She should have been upfront with her identity however your handling of the situation was very poor and insensitive.

Wtf- vaginoplasty?- wow ok how very wrong I was- I have never even heard of this before- I was basing my whole understanding on the porn vids that are advertised on the side- going this far must definitely be rare- I've never seen it there. Hold my hands up here- I was an ignorant oaf.

Based on what you said in your original post I think I am much more likely to know what a vagina looks like

Don't quite understand how anything I said in my post would indicate how many girls I've been with? Not that it's a competition.

It doesn't matter whether this is a true story or not, what is important is the widespread, hidden transphobia people are exemplifying throughout this thread.

"She should've told him" - when? On their first date? Two weeks in? Please. OP dated this person for who she is. She's the exact same person now as she was last week, back when OP supposedly liked her. Nothing's changed. The only reason you would leave someone over something like this is embarrassment, and anger at yourself, for dating someone who is trans - and that my friend, is transphobia. This is similar to men who get angry when/if they find out that their (female) partner has had a multitude of sexual partners in the past. It's laughable - get over yourself, you're not that special.

This shyte about "trust" is an easy mask to put on to avoid making all that obvious. Oh yeah trust is the foundation to all relationships look at me I'm a 24 year old virgin on TSR and I'm wise as f*** when it comes to this. Stfu this has nothing to do with trust, or lies. She was not doing anything over the course of their relationship that she was hiding from the OP. Alala, you people are sad.
I'm neither 24 nor a virgin but this is pathetic. It's a huge deal and she should absolutely have told OP allowing him to have made an informed decision. Imagine a man were HIV positive and told his gf it would be fine for her to go on the pill, he would quite possibly be convicted of a crime. Liberals have no empathy for cis-gendered white men.

What's pathetic is your analogy: on one hand we have a girl, who dated a guy, did not give him a full, elaborate description of her past life - which she should not be expected to do, especially "before the first date" as some people are requesting on here. On the other, we've got someone who knowingly delivers a fatal disease to his partner. Nice one mate.

The case we're discussing is not equivalent to someone not being a girl, pretending to be a girl, inviting someone else back to their place, only for person B to find out person A is not a girl. That's deceit, this is not.

If romantic relationships are not based on some sort of higher mutual experience of existence, where you share every aspect of your past existence, I say go to hell. I would rather have tonnes of flings and not waste my time.

did you really just compare not being openly transgender to your partner to giving your partner a fatal disease without them knowing

Of course it's part of a relationship to gradually share about your past life - it is indeed important, but is not the issue her: our problem on this thread is twofold. People, including the OP, seem to think that:

    1. not immediately sharing this particular detail was wrong and/or lying
    2. this changes something about how she is now

These are both false. To see this, actual analogy: you might not want to date someone who currently suffers from depression, but your partner telling you the they used to suffer from depression does not change the fact that now, they don't. And they would not be wrong in not disclosing this on/before the first date. Furthermore, if they did so later on, say two years in, and you left them for that reason, then you're prejudiced against mental illness - not to mention incredibly insensitive, and quite frankly moronic. Same thing here - difference is the general public is more comfortable with mental illness than they are with gender identity, as this thread demonstrates.

Oh so you decide whether you want children with your partner on/before the first date? Please. If being/not being sterile is one of the things you need to know of before dating someone, then you're going to go through some pretty unsatisfying dates mate.
