    Correct method except you must've gotten carried away because at the very bottom, 5 and 5 do not make up 10 with multiplication.
    I got 2 root 35

    Can I have a few surd questions please

    Yeah that's good.

    Try \sqrt{234}

    And I did this too

    Omg how did I learn to simplify them!
    I had a bit of a break from maths as you can tell!

    Check your working again because 59 shouldn't even be in there

    Done it

    Can I have a few random ones expanding simplifying whatever... you know

    So I can move on

    I'm not sure if aqa wants more detail on surds? This is basic I think

    Yeah this is pretty basic simplification. Exams would want to see you apply this in more complicated questions such as expanding. Have a go at the one's I've posted before.

    (Original post by RDKGames)
    Simplify:
    2\sqrt2 \cdot \sqrt2
    6\sqrt5 \cdot 2\sqrt5
    3\sqrt9
    7\sqrt4 - 2\sqrt9
    3\sqrt8 - 2\sqrt{64}

    (Original post by RDKGames)
    (1+3\sqrt7)^2
    (2+\sqrt2)(3+\sqrt3)
    \frac{8}{2+6\sqrt10}

    Yes. Try not to look back on your book and attempt to get them right first time.

    Careful. You decomposed the roots correctly, but remember that you are also multiplying those roots by the 3 and 2 which you forgot to include.
