Just like everything else in every exam haha

You're welcome. Good luck on Monday!
Haha, true.
At least with maths/chem you actually have to understand it though. Half of the time, I have no idea what the stuff I'm writing in bio even means!

And good luck to you too, you'll do great!

What is a niche and how does a reduction in biodiversity lead to a reduction in niches?
Niche: The particular area within a habitat occupied by an organism.

It's basically just a habitat. And it's the other way round; a reduction in niches results in a decrease in biodiversity

3 bases = 1 amino acid
e.g. TACGUCTAGTUA would code for 4 amino acids.
However, some bases are introns (non-coding) and remember that sometimes different base triplets code for the same amino acids.
Is it 3 bases or 3 sets of bases?

My teacher said that you may get a question for applying your knowledge about uptake of water from the soil into the root by them asking what would happen if you started to put pesticides onto the plants. It that all that would happen is that the solid would have a lower water potential, therefore water from the root hair would move into the soil by the process of osmosis. Is this right?

Just been flicking through the thread,

i was wondering if someone can do a summary of predictions which may be on and a few model answers which may have been answered

this way everyone has a reference point to look to and the same question doesn't continue being asked

Ahh haha yeah I'm in AS How is psychology A2, not sure if I'm going to take it but looks interesting
Hmm there is a lot of content to learn, and I wasn't really keen on the topics (we did depression, anomalistic psychology, relationships, eating behaviour and aggression) but it is very easy to achieve high grades. I managed to get 96/100 in unit 4 which i thought i had completely messed up.. haha but I guess its personal preference

This is actually a very likely question...I'd assume it would be something like that, but I'm not 100% sure. :s

POSSIBLE 6 MARKERS

-How does an insect carry out gas exchange and reduce water loss (spec paper)
-Explain cohesion-tension theory
-How can water travel in to xylem? (Diff. Pathways etc...)
-Explain Mitosis
-How is a xerophyte adapted to its climate?
-Explain the differences between mitosis and meiosis
-How is tissue fluid formed and how can it return to the circulatory system
-Explain differences between capillaries, veins, arteries, aterioles
-How is a fish adapted to carry out gas exchange
-How is DNA adapted to its role

2^3 = 8
The 2 is there because they will pair up
The 3 is there because there are 3 different chromosomes
Hope that makes sense

So is it always 2^x where x is the number of chromosomes?
