Really not sure I can make it through this night. But don't think I can get myself to A&E either.

Has anyone who's up got any experience of dialing 999 when feeling suicidal?

I think I need to, but don't know what to say when I phone up. I'm such a failure.
Hey you're not a failure at all! Welcome to the Soc and I hope you managed to stay safe through the night :hugs:

First of all I hope you slept all right in the end Second of all I hate having dreams like that when you dream about someone in your past who's was horrible. Perhaps try and use that as fuel to motivate you in doing amazing at something in a "look how well I'm doing now" type of thing. Anyway, I hope things will improve as the day goes on for you :hugs:
Thing is, it was a very complex situation where the tutor was actually amazingly lovely but just quite abusive too, so it took me years (literally) to work out that what happened was abuse

Hope you're okay, lovely. Sorry I wasn't there :jumphug: :lovehug:
No need to apologise hun :jumphug:

First exam today. Given everything that happened yesterday, feeling a tiny bit like it couldn't have been at a worse time.

For people who were concerned etc. (though I think I've already spoken to most of you) there is no need to worry. Therapist has called All Of The People so it seems that I'll be checked up on regularly and alarm bells will be ringing if I'm late for anything ever. She said yesterday that she was the most concerned for my safety that she's ever been which is totally bizarre given I've been far worse than this, so I'm assuming triggering stuff meant that I was more open in therapy than normal, plus being slightly less depressed makes me more able to articulate Bad Plans and suchlike. Either way, looks like I won't be having a decent chunk of alone time for quite a while...

Ahhhhh feeling really positive today. Hope everyone else has a good day today!

I'd completely forgotten I'd even applied for DLA because it was months ago, but yesterday I found out I've been awarded it!! Massive help as I've been unable to work most of this year and have to live somewhere much more expensive than I can afford next year because of my numerous OCD and anxiety requirements. (I'm hopefully living on campus on medical grounds, but it's really pricey compared to 3rd party accommodation)

And I had cuddles with my tiny chinese hamster so I'm feeling really good now.

    Also...

    (weight related, possible ED trigger)
    Spoiler:
    Show
Weight Watchers is going so well!! I'm pretty sure I've lost some weight already in my week and a half of trying to eat better. You can eat as many vegetables as you want without it counting so I've not even felt that hungry! I'm so proud of myself for finally trying to lose weight in a healthy way (I usually resort to extreme methods)
    Great post - repped :yep:

That does sound quite complicated, but only you know what you feel is the right thing to do. We'll be here regardless :hugs:

First exam of the year is done. Think it went fairly OK. Nice little experimental design question on depression, got to demonstrate my expert knowledge.

I definitely definitely definitely shouldn't have taken the paper out of the exam. Have now looked, realised I completely skimmed over quite a fundamentally important word in the experimental design question. :cry2: I hope they give me some marks for what I did.... I designed a bloody good experiment, was just testing something slightly different than they asked for. Kind of ironic, since the question was about attentional biases in depression. Should write to the examiners like "my answer is an example of an attentional bias in depression... please pretend I designed the right study".

    Balls.

Oh well. Is only worth 8% of the year....

Yeah, should hopefully still get marks for rambling lots about ethics.

It's just frustrating because I could actually easily have answered the question. It wouldn't have even been any more difficult. Just literally missed a word.

Yeah, just the way it goes I guess. Fairly sure I got 70% anyway so not going to complain. :nope: Just means my other exams need to go fairly well. This next week is TERRIFYING. :afraid: Though I can't really moan at friends about it since some of them have days with 6 hours of exams in.

You can do it hun - we believe in you! :rave: :yep: :rave:

6 hour days were NOT good for the soul. Had two of those kinda days in my Finals. Except if you included rest breaks, it added up to 7 hours rather than 6 Worst thing was I'm certain my DoS had something to do with the timetabling, since he was one of the examiners that year. I was on kill mode when I saw the exam timetable for the first time (which was at 3am one night when I couldn't sleep, doh!) :mob:

Just realised :nope: looks sad. I meant :nah:, if that's the happy head-shake.

Yeah, I have 10 mins rest breaks per hour as well, and 5 mins extra time, so if I had two exams on one day I'd end up with only 55 mins between them! Luckily I just have one on Mon, one on Tues, one on Thurs and one next Tues. Not exactly spaced out but OK as Oxbridge-exam-horrors go. Soooo much anxiety for this week anyway.

    Also, bad DoS. :mob:

My life completely sucks right now. That may seem like an ignorant thing to say because I'd imagine there are people worse off than me around the world, but I feel so lonely and depressed.

I'm 19 y/o and my parents still want to take me out for picnics. They're wondering why I don't speak much when we're out even though they know I have social anxiety & OCD. I have no-one my age to socialise with because I'm anxious around people all the time and my previous friends have gone to Uni (but even then, I don't talk to them like I used to.) Later school life was hell, college was hell, and now I'm stuck in a rut.

Most of my time is spent on the internet and I don't even have facebook. I'm stuck in the house no matter the weather because there's nowhere I can go where I'd feel comfortable. I need to loosen up, I know, but it's difficult.

I hate feeling this way. Lonely, depressed, anxious.

hey there! I'm not a regular, and this is certainly a pretty embarrassing issue for me, but I was wondering if there's anyone around who suffers from dermatillomania and could dish out some tips? I've been up and down with it for the past 4yrs or so, with it being pretty horrendous during my worst ED months. I've 'stopped' several times only to restart during stressful times, and being in the middle of exams I can't stop myself from doing it at least once a day.. I've tried doing my nails up all pretty but hasn't worked so far. I've also considered writing on my arms & legs which might be my next strategy. Either way any tips would be lovely.
