I didn't like it very much. I thought the film lacked depth and emotion. Also, I don't think I would have been able to make sense of it if I hadn't read the book (which I loved, btw).
I thought capturing the emotion of the book was one of the things most improved over The Hunger Games. I also loved the book, better than the first or Mockingjay.

For me it was along with 'The Nightmare in Silver', the Pandorica part 1 and the Byzantium the best of the Smith era.
Not a fan of Smith tbh. Not sure if it's because of how he's written though.

I love Smith but episodes have been more drama and less sci-fi than the Tennant or Christopher era's. Also it's become more child friendly.

I agree that it's slightly better - I really didn't like how the friendship between Katniss and Rue was so rushed in the first movie - but I still hardly felt a thing during the second movie. Maybe it's just me, I don't know... and Catching Fire is my favourite book out of the trilogy as well.

If your comparing to the books then it's probably never going to get close, but I did feel something when watching Catching Fire. What I didn't like about the first film was how seemingly unimportant the character of Peeta was.

I've just seen it and I agree. Felt like it was just going through the motions of the book without really marking its own stamp upon them - almost like simply rereading the book itself.

Unlike my local, the bar is a bit quiet.

Unlike my local, the Commons Bar isn't under the threat of closing.

Fear not. We have the next entertaining update of the motion and bills challenge tonight. We have the update of the voting review to highlight any seats going for by-election.

One thing i have noticed is that bill discussion has been rather short lately.

I fear their leadership election finished days ago and they've not said who's elected.

Raided for seats for by election possibly, but there are some good stuff in the piplines but chronic inactivity plays its hand again.

You only see that from the voting stats. Besides I did have other commitments and my motivation for coming back was weak at best
