I was under the same impression and if Corpus Admissions says it then it must be true. :P

Sorry to hear that brah. :console: Being brutally honest dude, there are gonna be people who have a UMS average higher than you who are going to get rejected, unless you can seriously impress at the interview. I'm really not sure about how much your circumstances e.g. your school's average AS performance they're going to account for. I mean, what's your maths ums like? If that's over 90% then you'll still get an interview and you've got a decent shot. My advice maybe to talk to someone like cpdavis, iirc (forgive me if you're reading this and this is wrong ) he got an offer despite his UMS being below 90% for [email protected]
Haha yeah was just clarifying cheers

Thanks brah, and I know, its bloody Economics, History and S1 dragging down my average!

It is luckily M+FM average is 92.5% (Maths is 96.6reccuring% and Further Maths is 88.3reccuring% - bloody S1 )
All my pure+mechanics modules are >90
    Quick breakdown C1 - 98 C2 - 100 FP1 - 96 S1 - 79 S2 - 90 M1 - 92
still get an interview - would I be able to assume then that its nearly 100% likely that this yr I'd be called to interview with 92.5%

I've seen him around, will throw him a PM cheers

Also on the topic of Cambridge vs Oxford, I honestly don't think you should simply reject Oxford because you wouldn't feel at home there. I would imagine the two cohorts to be extremely similar, the same for the universities, even admissions tutors have stressed this to me on several talks, often some people only choose one over the other because of trivial things like there's an H&M at Cambridge or whatever. Sure you get these stories about boarding school kids at Oxford getting smashed off their heads but meh, everyone there will not be an extreme party-goer and there will be people there just like you. Robbie if you're still unsure, is it not at all possible to book a visit day for Oxford at any time before the UCAS deadline to get a feel for the place?

trivial things disadvantage me more at Oxford such as: GCSEs (major) MAT (haven't seen or prepared for it, probably could do it but I may need more time). I'm not sure if I'm ready to reject giving it my all at a Cambridge interview and settling for Oxford, I've always wanted to go to Cambridge since day 1, I would even put Warwick infront of Oxford if I got an offer for both

also reply to my other post if you've got time, cheers

I agree, this is totally correct. The main real difference would be the course to be honest, and that is obviously a hugely important factor.

In which case, I think you should still apply to Cambridge. But, as Felix says, you will need to do incredibly well at interview for an offer; especially at competitive colleges like Pembroke. I'm probably going to go for Oxford on the basis of a 89-90% UMS top 3 average (88% for all four) but then again I think I'd be equally happy at both. I really do think they offer similar social experiences/workloads etc, but obviously the courses may/will differ vastly.

Ah ok, fair play to you for that. I don't really think it's fair to Oxford though to say you're 'settling' for them, they are still a very prestigious institution.

I think I can smash the interview I just need to practice from September-December

my profile is so awkward that if I impress them at interview I'll have a strong chance, people usually think people with 2B and 5C would never stand a chance at Cambridge - my Oxbridge advisor seemed to think this

Well I would be settling because I originally wanted to go Cambridge but I had to settle for Oxford which is what not what I originally wanted, I'm not dissing Oxford by any means lmao, I know Oxford is extremely prestigious as is Cambridge
