# Edexcel GCSE Mathematics A Higher Paper 2016 Unofficial Markscheme

1. Hi, do you reckon I'll get some marks for writing 75pi instead of 100-25pi??
2. What was question 18
3. (Original post by 34908seikj)
no.

Edit:

Depends, did you identify it was originally 100-25pi? If so you'd get 1 mark for method.

What would i get if i worked it all out

Wrote 25 pi - 100 cm somewhere but wrote it the other way round by accident.
4. Going by this I've got 50+
5. Alternative solution for question 22 would be to square root both sides.
Leading to which gives the two solutions.

me too i think. I thought that was so generous for 3 marks
7. So whats everyone thinking for grade boundaries overall.
8. what was question 18

How many makes are in that question? if it's 3, you might get 1 for getting the area of square and circle.

I'm pretty sure for one of the questions is 54 teachers, firstly you have multiplied 18 by 2 which is not 90. However that is the wrong method as you will need to multiply 18 by 3 which is 54.All in all this maths paper was harder than all the recent past papers, hopefully low grade boundaries as many people struggled. Although I believe I found this paper ok and looking to get an A* but I'm not over confident
11. I got number of females 11 too.
What was the percentage questionpls.?
(Original post by amanii_ox)
does it matter if it is a factorized answer or not????
12. 66/100, not bad for me considering i was on 18 when i started the year

He multiplied 3 by 18 which does = 54. Look at the teachers mark scheme again. He was right.

here's the solution to the last question.
Thanks yeah I know where I went wrong now if I didn't get the final answer but wrote: 1/2 - {6/12 du think i'd still get 2 marks? because I stupidly subtracted it from 1/2 not 1/4...

With harsh marking i got 83%. Will that be enough for an A*?Maybe but only just i would say

Are you serious that's maybe just about an A*.
16. Hi guys,

If we did the right working out, but wrote the wrong answers or did attempt the question and got wrong answers- would we get some marks?
