Feel like such a loser. Depression/anxiety have basically made it near impossible for me to make friends at uni and now we need to get participants to take part in a study we are conducting. I literally have no one I can ask. The two people (on campus) that I am friends with are doing the same exp. so I can't even ask them. If we don't have participants we automatically fail. Feel like crying. This is so stupid.

:hugs: Can you ask your lecturer if maybe you could team up with someone? And what kind of participants do you need? Can we help?

I am sort of teaming up with my two friends I previously mentioned (we always work together). They (obviously) have friends outside of the course, I just don't because I literally can't be bothered to socialise, would much rather sleep all the time, etc. So they have participants/friends that can take part, but I don't and it's stressing me out.

And no, I don't think so, it's done within the department. Like the participant would have to be there in person. There's no specifics for the type of participant though. I know that my friends outside of uni are either busy with work/uni themselves, so I can't ask them. That and most of them live like an hour+ away, one of my best friemds who lives near by always bails on me, so can't ask her either. Ugh. So frustrated. Just not sure what to do. Was thinking about going to student support and asking what to do about it.

Probably is stupid thing to be worked up about considering it is my fault.

Don't know why I bother coming to uni because I'm never going to do well. I'm just stupid and don't care enough to listen
There's an opening for an undergraduate research assistant at my uni and I really want to to apply for but they'll want to speak to me face to face about it and I'll embarras myself. Even if I got the job I'd be terrible and I'd mess it all up, I can't do anything
I feel like absolutely everything aches and I'm just feeling so mopey and I keep crying for no reason.

I'm alright. Had a death in the family (albeit not that close) which got me a little upset but other than that I am alright at the moment I would say.

Well, scratch that, now I don't have my two friends in my group either, didn't get my first choice. This is just ****ing stupid, and I know I shouldn't be this worked up over something so trivial but I just can't be ****ing bothered with this ****.

Gonna fail it anyway, so **** at everything.

Not sure if its any consolation but in every single lecture without exception, I don't have a clue what they are on about... so don't feel too bad about a lecture. Try and do some further reading around it? Definitely don't panic - even the brightest are confused sometimes :hugs:

:hugs: i'm not sure if it's the lecturer I don't understand but I feel as though all knowledge of organic chemistry has just fallen out of my head  I'm looking for second hand Higher chemistry books to just go over the basics and hopefully get some confidence Thanks :hugs:

:hugs: Hopefully you find some. Do you have lecture recordings? Maybe listening to it again at a later date would also be beneficial? Hope you're feeling a little better now.

:hugs: If not, is it possible to email the lecturer? Or if you have friends in the same module, perhaps they could lend you notes/explain the bits you don't get?

Sorry if none of these help. :/

    -------------

Big teary mess, keep having random breakdowns. Went to student support to see someone from wellbeing as they have drop ins, she was really helpful and understanding. I think I'm probably annoying everyone and I should just shut up or something. Don't even know why I'm feeling so bad. :cry2:

I have no idea where you study, but if there's even the slightest chance that you study in London I'd be glad to help participate?

thanks. the thing is I know shes not phenomenally bad.... like shes so nice to everyone and used to be nice to me but now she just couldn't give a ****. used Samaritans a lot, with mixed experiences. just been looking up local numbers cause am considering calling. cant take this any more :'(
Some people I suppose, are naturally forgetful. Horrendously so. I'm sure she really does care, otherwise she would have quit her job!

Sometimes it helps to just drop everything, and just go out and do something you know you'll love. Literally, just leave life on hold for a day, spend a day out in the city/woods/countryside (whichever takes your fancy!) and resume life the next evening.
