# OCR Biology A Exam Thread (Breadth - May 26, 2016 and Depth - June 7, 2016) watch

1. Does anyone how the breadth practice paper!!! Urgent
2. (Original post by kaykaayy)
For the vital capacity question where you had to instruct how the person should breathe into the spirometer...
The OCR Textbook gives the wrong definition (& so the wrong instructions)?? Do you think we'd still be let off? It literally gives the opposite I've just searched it online and everywhere else says the opposite. Attachment 545791
that is the right definition.
3. (Original post by Yukio.X)
that is the right definition.
Is this not the exact opposite? OCR one talks about volume being breathed IN, the actual definition is the volume being exhaled out...
4. Is there an unofficial markscheme?

DIdn't the question say to compare 1993 percentage of deaths caused by MRSA with the peak deaths caused by MRSA which was i think in 2006 or 2007. so then didn't you have to work out the percentage of deaths in 1993 caused by MRSA which was 12% and then in the peak year which was 78% and then take away 78% from 12% to work out the difference in percentage?
I thought it was asking for the percentage increase from deaths caused by MRSA in 1993, which was 51 to the peak year, which was 2007 with 16XX deaths. So I did
(16XX - 51/ 51) x 100 = 3200% (not the exact answer i got, but similar)

the answer I got was 3140%
you work out the difference and divide it by the original and times 100 that is all
11. what do u guys think you got in both the breadth and depth paper from looking at the mark scheme. I feel that the mark scheme is wrong with the spirometer trace what do u guys think???? and of course not all the answers are on there and they were written by a student.
