I went to my primary school for work experience.

At first I only wanted to go there for nostalgia, but I actually learned quite a lot about teaching and young children's behaviour, so overall it was worthwhile.

i went to a cafe! it was the biggest waste of a week ever!!!

my school made me do it as my original placement told me few days before that they couldnt accept me due to technical problems

all it taught me was that i never, ever, ever want to work in a Cafe ever again in my life!!

Me too! I've just spent my half term 'holiday' there. The main aspect of banking I've learnt is that the Maths involved is minimal; it's much more to do with people, so I don't think it's the career for me. Two years ago I did a placement in a library. I've applied to do a placement in a pharmacy in the summer too but I haven't had any replies regarding that yet.

^ For most courses, no. And for those which it is, it must be relevant.

I spent the first week at an architects (it was really interesting ) then the second at my old primary school. Since then I realised that I didn't really want to go into either of these careers, so did some work experience in a clinical lab, the science museum and a biology-technology startup Also volunteered at the library for a few months, which kind of counts as work experience...
