    • Subject: History - predicted A / achieved B (319/400, so 1 mark off an A!!!)
    • Subject: English Literature and Language - predicted A* / achieved A* (396/400)
    • Subject: Media Studies - predicted B / achieved A* (342/400)

Firm offer, if received: Ancient History at Birmingham (ABB)

Insurance offer, if received: Ancient History at Reading (ABB)

Comments and reactions To say that I'm shocked would be an absolute understatement! I never could've imagined this in my wildest dreams! Three years of hardwork and struggling and personal issues have all paid off, and I couldn't be happier! My History paper has been sent off for remark by the college as well, so it could become A*A*A!!!

    Now to sleep.

    A2 - Maths A* (569/600)

    AS - Geology A (289/300)
    - Physics A (290/300)
    - Chemistry B (229/300)

Thoughts: Really pleased with those, didnt expect to exceed a D in chemistry, and wasnt sure if I'd get an A in geo and phys, and after that C3 exam I thought I'd definitely get below the A* in maths!!!

    Comments and reactions:
Initially, great excitement due to exceeding my predictions and firm offer! Then slight disappointment when realising that I was 1/2 marks away from an A* in business and 4/5 from an A in geography xD Continually trying to contact Durham to try and get a place through adjustment!

Was predicted all A* which I thought was a little unrealistic but I am ecstatic with my results, Biology in particular. I little down with my Chemistry UMS because it was my stronger subject.

Waiting for Trinity College Dublin to respond to my application but hopefully I will get an offer.

Well done! I'd just like to add that if you applied as British student, you will be waiting on the CAO to offer you a course, not Trinity who don't feature and don't know you exist UNTIL you accept the offer from CAO. I am searching Irish uni terms to try to clear things up at the moment

    Geography- Target A - Achieved A
    English literature - Target B - Achieved A

So, so ,so happy! Genuinely did not expect these grades and I'm so pleased all my hard work was not for nothing!
Also, I had thought that I had definitely failed english ( And it is the subject I want to do at Uni), so in a way i feel that the month of waiting for the result feeling that I had failed and being so cut up about potentially losing out on my dream, and then that being completely wrong; has made me appreciated it even more.

my friend got BDD last year and ended up retaking this year, he now has A*AC( a couple ums off a B so they're remarking ) a gap year is not bad, a year out is nothing if you end up happy at the end of it

EDIT: He is now got a place at the uni he's wanted to go to for years
