Thought so haha but seriously, how are you finding the degree - or have you finished it? The course at Oxford looks so interesting, particularly the options to specialise into topics like climate change and biogeography in the 2nd and 3rd years (I prefer physical geog). How did you find the workload, was it manageable in your opinion?

Both Oxford and Cambridge run amazing free summer schools for year 12 students from state schools. Lots of information on their websites:

    http://www.uniq.ox.ac.uk/
    http://www.suttontrust.com/programme...mmer-school-2/

I would definitely recommend going to the Oxford one I went to both the Oxford and Cambridge summer schools and they really helped me decide which subject I wanted to apply for at uni (torn between Natural Sciences/Chemical Physics and Classics). I then ended up applying to Oxford because I loved it so much

    Any other hopeful Oxford medics?
I'd love to apply to Oxford honestly, not sure if I'd get accepted but it's worth a shot!

    GCSEs: 14A*s
AS-Levels: Religious Studies (already completed AS Level got an A ), Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English. Hoping to continue all 4 on to A2😬
    Course: Medicine
College: I can't decide between Christ Church and St John's, both look amazing!

Hope I can talk to some of you other hopeful medicine applicants, or just any Oxford applicants in general

It is manageable yeah, even for people who aren't the most focused or efficient... I'm in my first year, and you start learning both physical and human as well as a controversies course.
Personally,I find a college with quite a good number of geographers quite useful because we work together and help one another (everyone kinda has a strong subject and a weaker subject) so if that sounds like something that'd help you I'd suggest a big geography college like Hertford or Jesus

Haha that's weird! Although not too surprising seeing as we have such a common name

Good luck! I'm sure you'll do great. We're also doing the same AS level subjects except I don't do English the coincidences are growing yeah I am applying but for Oncology because I'm actually on an aid trip in Africa during the medicine week!

Tell me about it, someone calls 'Emily' and about fifteen people turn😂

What A Level subjects are you doing?
I'm putting Oncology down as my second option I think (or Biomed). That sounds amazing, how did you organise that aid week to Africa? I've heard of a few people doing things like that but never how it's organised haha!

Yeah I have, but I don't think it's really for me (although I am interested in natural hazards)... Anyway you have to be studying maths and physics/chemistry at A level don't you, which I'm not haha

I'm doing AS Bio, Chem, Maths and RS.

My school have been going for about 20 years to support villages so year 12s go every year. We raise money to pay for uni fees, nurseries, health centres etc I think it'll be an amazing experience

Yay well if you do decide to put down Oncology, maybe I'll see you there

What have you done in the way of volunteering/work experience/ extra curricular?

I did RS last year and I loved it! What exam board are you?

Ah that is amazing, I would love to do something like that! :O

I haven't done much so far, but I've been to some medical conferences and I am also a member of a charity which takes disabled and underprivileged children away for a week. I am starting a permanent volunteering position in my local hospital within the next few weeks which I am really looking forward to I also have clinical work observation lined up, a GP visit and a week where I'll spend each day in a different department or ward.

How about you? it's been so difficult trying to organise things!

Hi, I am an italian student probably applying for PPE 2016!
Nice Why have you chosen PPE? Do you like all parts of it equally, or is there one that interests you more?

I'm a bit (a lot ) concerned about my grades, if I even have a chance of getting in I can't really find much info about what would be the "average" acceptance grades for Swedish students... It's hard when I have nothing to compare them to

Are you considering any other schools or courses?
