Yeah not speaking from firsthand experience but I have heard meds kind of dim all your emotions rather than just making you less depressed..

Also, do you get 4 lifts at this comp? Thought 3 was normal!

Yeah, but I'm going to try and stick with it and see if they subside in a week or two.

No it's 3 lifts but my programme calls for me doing 4 (Military press being the extra one).

But when you said the numbers you were going for for each lift you listed 4?

Oh the red number is my theoretical max. The numbers not in red are the ones I will be attempting.

Depending on what meds you're taking it can take a month or two for the real benefit to kick in so keep up with it.
On a fitness note, nice lifting!

    Tuesday Deadlift
    TM 137.5 (5kg increase)

    82.5 x 1 x 5
    97.5 x 1 x 5
    110 x 1 x 5

Also as the competition is on Saturday and I normally train Mon,Tue,Thur,Fri. I'm thinking if it would be a better idea to do Mon, Tue, Wed, Thur and take Friday off, instead of Wednesday.
On the week of the comp?

I'd go up to openers on like the Wednesday then have two full rest days.

Yeah comp is the 8th so this Saturday.

So I should go up to opener weight on Wednesday then take two full days off?

Should I go up to opener weight on both bench and squat tomorrow then?

Urm, I'd have planned it more in advance but Nvm. Lol.

I'd do openers on squats and bench tomorrow Yea then have two days off to be fully recovered by Saturday.

    First meet today

    Learnt some lessons.
1.LISTEN TO SIGNALS. It's very easy to get into your zone and drown everything else out including the signals to lift.
2.Don't let your ego get the better of you. Know what you can lift and be reasonable with your increases.

    Squat:
    110 Did with ease.
    122.5 Did with ease.
140 Got way to cocky, too big of an increase and failed.

    Bench
60 Did with ease (But not counted due to not listening to signal)
65 Did with relative ease (Not counted same reason as above)
70 Grinder but got it (Listen to signal and finally got it)

Deadlift (Adrenaline kicked in at this point)
    120 Easy
    140 Easy
    160 Easy
(Probably had another 10kg or so in the bank but didn't want to get too cocky after the squat fail)

    Total:352.5KG

    Weight: 78KG

Got some videos that I'll upload later. (Anybody know how to upload private videos on youtube)

Good total. 6/9 is alright for a first attempt. Foolish Squats weight selection though.

Previous gym PBs in Squats and deadlifts?

Lift selection improvement in future is easy though.

I've never actually tested my 1RM in the gym.

PB for squat was 112.5 for 8 reps
    125 for 11 on DL

Next time do a few heavy triples in the weeks before the comp to help choice selection.

    Slight change to programme.
Instead of doing two 531 cycles back to back and then de loading, I'm doing one 531 cycle and then de loading on the fourth week. This is purely because I found a great excel spreadsheet that automatically calculates my 1RM, all my percentages and gives me a graph of the progress of my theoretical 1RM.

Been pretty busy this week so really haven't had an opportunity to update the blog. Been back to the usual training this week. Mon (Military Press),Tue (Deadlift),Thur (Bench Press),Fri (Squat). Also increased deadlift considerably to 147.5 as my TM. Diet has been okay had a bit of a cheat day sunday, dominos, pancakes, chocolate cake, ice cream. Felt a bit like a slob as I just sat and ate and watched movies on Sunday but thought I deserved a break after the comp.
