90% divorces are initiated by women, if that isn't alarming then I dont know what is(Original post by clo_kiran)
If that's true, then 50% of marriages are a success! Why not take that chance for commitment than regretting never doing it at all? I mean, we're all gonna go through break ups and relationship problems in our life - that's human nature - but I mean, if you really, really loved someone to the point where you literally get sick being away from them for more than two weeks, or just cuddle up with their jumper with their scent on when they're away and you're watching TV on the sofa, then this is pretty much marriage - a love between two that is unbreakable, and in a way, getting married is the icing on the cake. I think...the reason why marriages fail at all is because of a lack of communication or the way a couple just fall out - because it's possible to just fall out of a relationship, because, again, that's a part of human nature too and we shouldn't be ashamed of that, right?
So why think ahead about a marriage failing when you haven't tried a go at it at all? (and if you have had a try at it, and your marriage hasn't been as successful as you'd like it to be, then we're all different, right?)
Then again... I don't even have a boyfriendso I don't even know why I'm on this tag right now

I would like to get married but I also like my own space and wouldn't like to have some woman nagging me and telling me what to do. -

your marriage will most likely be messy, given that 90% divorces are initiated by women, imagine if women had the power of verbal divorce.Scary!

I'd like to get married. My partner has to divorce first though lol
I'm not sure if he'd remarry. I'd like to think he would one day. I'd want a big enough house that we're not in each other's pockets though -

Nope.
Not planning on getting married and not planning on having kids of my own- I would consider adoption though.
It doesn't appeal to me for some reason. I think its because I'm fiercely independent and am normally more committed to work- not sure I could survive relationship commitments lol.
However I've never experienced romance so probably if I get a serious date my views may change.
Who knows what the future has in store for us? -

Eh... I don't know really. I think alot of it is because of how school over-dramatised pregnancy and birth in life skills lessons (I know they were just trying to discourage teenage pregnancies but it has discouraged me for life unfortunately)
Also I think of all the children who are in care because of a tragedy with their birth parents or their parents didn't want children so gave them up. I think thats really sad that fate does that to some children because everyone should deserve a happy family atmosphere or a chance at being part of a family.
I think everyone deserves some family love & if they feel like they aren't part of one... well I can't imagine what that must feel like.
But I guess thats the reason why. -

Fair enough. I would always consider adoption too. Just want a homegrown one too (maybe). I don't feel old enough to decide whether I want kids at all yet lol even tho all my siblings had children (yes plural) by my age (25) -

Ja, preferably to a Fräulein named Elsa with strikingly Germanic features and so forth, with my 20 children by her running about

How does TSR feel about marriage?
Do you know you definitely plan to get married? Or would you rather live with someone as a partner than a husband/wife?
It kind of sets a benchmark for where your relationship is at. -
