Most embarrassing part of being human.

That is a regular, commonplace activity among tigers. If a man went out and raped a poor woman after murdering her children, it would be headline news, as you say. This is because humans' morality is far more advanced than tigers' and most other animals'.

Yet we cause the most suffering, for ourselves and other species not to mention the environment. These superior morals, don't seem to be cutting it, front headline or not front headline. That is the embarrassment.
Belonging to a race of animals that has done, and continues to do, absolutely horrendous things to one another.

The suffering which goes on in the natural world on a daily basis makes ISIS look kind.

Animals are ignoble savages, mostly.

Haha, I wouldn't consider the two to be the same, in the sense that, it can't be changed by any other means, expect by nature itself; where as WE as humanity can....that makes it worse.

Btw, there is no separation between us and the natural/aminal world.

Don't those two sentences contradict each other?

Oh yeah! :h: What I mean is, the suffering we see in nature is only an aspect of it. We perceive it to be 'lawless and uncivilised', when it isn't.

When we cause suffering that is lawless and uncivilised, because we know better, yet we don't act better.

We are not separate from nature in that, we are governed by it's laws, no matter how much we like to think we are different from it.

Either we are slaves to nature, and our barbarism is no different from animal barbarism, or we are not slaves to nature, and therefore morally superior to nature.

We already act like we are separate from nature, and just look at the chaos.

It's not being a slave to nature, it's embracing was you are.

Are you saying that if we dropped the notion that we were separate from nature, and treated barbaric behaviour among humans as no different to barbaric behaviour among animals, then we would be finally at peace and harmony?

Stomach growling. Especially in the middle of an exam.:colonhash:

Or being that annoying person with a tickly throat who has to cough every split second in the exam...and then everybody ends up b*tching about you, instead of the exam. :ashamed2:

We are social, intelligent creatures, therefore, we must have understanding of each other and nature. You don't just do as you please, if you're intelligent.

There would be harmony, if we understand this.

But people don't just do as they please, for the most part. We have laws. Which animal has laws?

Mostly because of the fear of being punished, which is no way to live.

All of them, are governed by the laws of nature (incl. us).

LOL, yes! That face is on point.
There was a breaking point though - I would have choked. Had to go to the toilets and ended up missing a valuable 5-7 minutes on the exam which was like...an entire 10 mark answer or something. :bawling:
