you would lose significant marks as you are not engaging the academic nature of the subject

    critical of new right:

    Ball
    Gerwtitz
    Whitty
    Mac An ghail
    Mirza
What perspective / theory is Mirza arguing from? From what I can gather Mirza crits 'pupil responses' to racist labels (Fuller's study) as the main reason for underachievement, In the class topic it's easier to identify 'cultural deprivation theorists' and 'material deprivation theorists' but what do we call them in the other topics? Thanks

What's the best way to approach a question like this?

Examine the view that theoretical issues are the most important factor influencingsociologists’ choice of research methods. (Jan 2013)

My teacher says they often run questions like this. It's either

    - Theoretical
    - Ethical
    - Practical
    issues.

I haven't seen any sample essays, but what she said is to examine the arguments in favour, elaborating and using examples. Then list some reasons from the othr 2 areas why it might not be true. The conclusion is that all are important.

I wouldn't rely on the fact you can do a retake - I'm retaking this unit and its hell because you're practically teaching yourself after a year of not looking at any of this information.

    Socual economic political perspective
See the individual as dependent on the state
The state interferes in the individuals lives

This is irrelevant but do you know anything about grade boundaries? Say I got an A in unit one but a B or a C in unit two what would I get overall? Or if I got a B in u1 and a C in u2?
