6ft 1 is not short. 6ft 1 is very tall compared to most guys.

    4ft 11 is short.

We established I was making a joke a while ago! But if we are going to talk politics, no I am not, communism failed for a reason
I was making a joke too.

The joke was supposed to be my confusing Meninism with Leninism. It's only one letter off.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leninism

Sorry you thought I was serious!

The other part of the joke is that I'm an American, and Americans are often thought to be really paranoid about Communism. The line I used was actually used during the Red Scare to interrogate people about their ties to the Communist party. LOL.

This is primarily a British forum.

It might explain why your joke pretty much fell on deaf ears here. It's pretty much the equivalent of making jokes about Canada's apologetic stereotype.

Are you a Democrat or a Republican? (I know you're from a red state but I'm asking anyway)

Yeah, I knew that, I just thought that people in foreign countries liked to make fun of Americans being paranoid about communism, because I've heard them say that to us a lot. I assumed it was one of the international stereotypes about us. You know, like if someone in Germany made a self-deprecating joke about being really anal or militaristic. Or if someone in Ireland made a similar joke about being drunk or angry.

Of course, it's possible that a critique of communism wouldn't stand out in Britain because they probably didn't like Russia during the Cold War either.

As for being Democrat or Republican... I used to be a Democrat, but I really haven't liked Obama's presidency at all. I don't like the new law requiring people to buy health insurance from a private company (or pay a fine) because it has driven up prices and forced many people to pay more for worse coverage. Now that they know what the minimum coverage is and that people can't get out of buying it easily, they charge more. Also, the anti-racism thing has gotten really extreme, and I don't like how it's become an anti-police movement. We have to have laws and law enforcement, but it's becoming an anarchy where anyone can cry racism, get the police officer fired, and get away with anything.

I don't like the Republicans because of the gun policies and social policies regarding homosexuality, but I feel like the Democrats don't care about anyone except ethnic minorities these days. They'll protect Islam at the expense of homosexuals, education, women, secularism, and everything else they claim to stand for. And increasingly all they can harp on is cultural appropriation and white privilege.

If I'm being honest, I'm tempted to joke that Democrats are increasingly racist against non-Hispanic White people like me, while Republicans are racist against everyone else.

The sad thing is that now both parties cater to some Abrahamic religion with outdated social views, so now we only get a choice between whether we get sent back to the 1950s, or the 7th century. So the real loser is anyone that wanted secular government.

I don't think my views changed. I think the Democratic party moved so far towards radicalism and authoritarianism that I can't support them anymore, and now I'm stuck with Republicans because they're the only ones opposing the Democrats even though I dislike the majority of what they stand for. At this point it's more about choosing the lesser of two evils, because some of the things Democrats want are a deal-breaker for me. Basically, I'm probably going to vote Republican in the next election, but I might vote Democrat in the future if the situation changes. I'm what they call a "swing voter" that alternates between parties depending on whether they feel the country is too far right or too far left.
