No, it's not. Lots of people donate, they aren't all out to get something. Anyway, what is it you think this guy wants - rape law revoked? How's he going to get that? And speaking as someone who has studied criminal law, the law on rape has tightened significantly in recent years - the test for belief in consent becoming hasher for one.
Well, he wants to be seen as respectable for one, and that is why he is donating to the labour party. The question is, if you couldnt see who donated, how do you know if anyone is getting favours? As for the rape laws, they have gone too far in favour of women, but thats another matter.

Maybe he's just a Labour party supporter?

So we're agreed that this guy hasn't actually influenced rape law. Good to know.

Yes, but if we didnt know this guy was a convicted rapist, and the rape laws got changed, then that would make your original point wrong and would mean that the public should know a convicted rapist has paid money to the labour party...

If something that didn't happen had happened then I'd be wrong? Not exactly a killer argument.

He's ma MP i'll have you know. He's standing down at the next election and he'll be standing as a London MEP ( you heard it here first)
Heard he will be standing for Parliament against a minister who was in the House at the time of his suspension. On his radio show he said New Labour were getting anxious

He did unseat a Labour MP who had a very big majority, in 2005.

Another TSR thread says he might run against Jack Straw in Blackburn.
