Anybody got any ideas on how you would do a educational resource pack, or any examples on the net? (I asked this earlier but no reply :[)

    Advice for parents
    Advice for teachers

    Anyone else got other suggestions?

Sounds good. I'm linking in people's personal experiences too and going crazy with the highlighters...

Has anyone else rearranged their pack?

Not rearranged yet. Do like the personal experiences grouping though.

I'm confused by text N of the dyslexia pack... Is it what parents have said about their dyslexic child and then what people have said about their dyslexic partner, or have I got the wrong end of the stick?

Hey am also doing these text packs - what kind of annotations are we NOT allowed to make and is highlighting stuff in any colour okay? What would be a reasonable amount of notes to make/highlighting? :s

To be honest, I'm not sure. My packs are now all multicoloured but I haven't annotated much yet until I'm sure how much we can do. I suppose it really depends on what people class as 'brief annotations'.

Actually, just got an email from my teacher about it. All he could say is that the specification says this:

The pre-release material taken into the examination may contain brief
annotation. Such annotation may include cross references and/or the
glossing of words or phrases. Highlighting and underlining is allowed.
Tables of contents, indexes and provisional groupings are permitted.
Insertion of pages, loose sheets, .post-its. or any other form of notes
or additional material is not permitted.

I'm not sure if that's helpful or not...

what happens to your packs once you've done the exam? do they get sent to the examiner with your exam script? if not then how do they know if you've stuck to the 'brief annotations' guideline....

any ideas on how to group the pendle witches???

Yup, i've grouped pendle witches into:

Group 1- Modern Texts Analysing the Evidence

    a) Text K and Text L > events relative to witches' trials and attitudes

    b) Text I and Text N > assessing the characters of the witches and how attitudes influenced their conviction

    c) Text O, Text C and Text A> detail of the relevant events and trial

Group 2- Leaflets/ summaries of story

    > Aimed at tourists, accessable, relevant information

    Text E, Text D, Text J

    Group 3- original texts

    > reflecting the fear and superstition of people at the time

    Confessions- spun information
Evidence- reflective of fear and unjust trials> how witches were a victim of poverty, culture and environment

King James' text- fear, Latin references> devotion to faith, power

Hiya, i feel pretty confident about both module 5 and 6 - ive only got a quick question. When i was looking through a past editorial paper on sharks it was clear on how to group the texts i.e sharks are violent, sharks are not violent, biology of sharks etc. Could someone give me a suggestion on how to group the Pendle Witches? Thank you! x
