I need an E for an A..but I need an A* for my offer and I think Biology is my best hope. In that case, I need a high A :/
I'm sure you'll manage that! BIOL5 has decent UMS conversions once you get into the A boundary so I'm sure you'll be fine

Nottingham Took me a while to decide but I think its the best course for me also has pretty high pass rates for the Royal College of Physicians entry exam

I'm a bit confused, when we use adenine terminators, does it mean that the last base in our original strand of DNA is adenine or thymine??!!
Thanks

thymine, the DNA strand that is being sequenced will have a corresponding adenine base which the thymine terminator is bonded to by the polymerase.

I need about a D to get an A but I'm going to work on the assumption I need a B just in case Biol6 went badly!

I get extra time, so I'll be spending around 90 mins on the main section, and just over an hour on the essay, with the rest of the time to check everything. I will also look at the essay questions first, so I can start planning during the other questions.

Thank you! Really good essay, just one thing do you think the secondary messenger model can be mentioned... or is that going off the point a bit? I can't tell when things become irrelevant!

Fair enough, you should be alright then.

I've really been neglecting Biology..just been focusing on CHEM4 this last week. I need to pick up, 2 weeks until the exam :/

How many essays would you guys recommend to write in preparation? I was thinking of doing 4, i.e. one from each paper.

What do people think the grade boundaries will do? Obviously they'll increase, but by as much as by last year when the boundary went up by 5 raw marks?

Why do you say obviously they'll increase? They may go down if its a hard paper?

Yeah likewise, I'm resitting Chem4 as well! Been mainly concentrating on Maths though.

Yeah I would say about that, to be honest, as long as you've revised I think the essay shouldn't be too bad as long as you're decent at setting it out and covering things you need to etc. Maybe do 3/4 essays then a fair few plans? They only take 10 mins and I think they help more than writing it all out.
