Guys, do you have any tips about domain/range?

i ALWAYS seem to struggle to get those 2/3 marks
(Original post by ridirahman)
same here
Me too I'm hoping there aren't many questions on it and they aren't worth many marks tomorrow!

turn it into sin cos then simplify and add the fractions when needed to get a single fraction. you will get cot if you do it correctly.
I've got 2cos^2x + sin^2x-1/(1/2)sin2x
where to proceed lol

Max of H so the negative value needs to become a positive for that to happen it must equal to -1. ( minus*minus=Plus).
im lost

Guys, i've done every solomon paper (A average) and IGYB paper (B average); with a couple of STEP papers (those ******* destroyed my mind. i couldn't even finish 2 questions ).

i did the entirety of the maths papers ('05 - '08 excluded) in April time; therefore with exam tomorrow what would be the best course of action? to retake the past papers? or to choose and do the hardest? besides, what are the hardest papers left to be done? (in terms of edexcel papers and the like?)

From the beginning.
okay so change the 2cot2x to 2cos2x/sin2x.

Change the sin2x to 2sinxcosx. The 2 shall cancel out giving you cos2x/sinxcosx.

Now we have two fractions cos2x/sinxcosx plus sinx/cosx (which came from the tanx).

Add the fractions giving cos2x + sin^2(x) which is all over sinxcosx.

Use trig identity to replace the cos2x. Can you go from here?

If you've done all you've said I'd take the rest of the evening off and get a properly early night! Being sharp and awake will keep the silly errors out of the picture, which will boost your grade more than anything else you can do now! You've done all the hard work, just relax! And nobody can do step :'D

I'd look over the past papers you've done and redo any questions that you had trouble with. And redo June 2013, you'll want to have that fresh in your mind in case they decide to pull some similar tricks this year.

I would review content. You've done a lot of papers already and if you're consistently losing marks it suggests that you are not 100% comfortable with some parts if the course so maybe have a look at those areas.
