Us Greens have a vote on who to be our MPs. We believe in all members having the vote, unlike it seems does the NUS when ir comes to choosing a President.
Would be hilarious if not even the Leader got a seat

imo the delegate system is one that works for the NUS, it would be mayhem otherwise I reckon. Although saying that it is the least of their worries currently

Except it doesn't, it puts the power in the hand of a few radicals on low turnout who get nothing done; the NUS as a whole is simply irrelevant regardless now anyway.

Barring discounts, I think that most students simply don't know or don't care what the NUS does and its increasingly political agenda is unnecessary IMO. I would prefer the Unions to disaffiliate and a political student union created nationally for those students that want to engage in such activities. Student unions need to go back to making things better for students, not pointless political posturing.

The turnout will be low regardless, and just be far more chaotic. No one outside of the NUS cliché cares about the internal politics, and most members are members for the discounts, not for whoever is leader, and what their committee says and rules on

You don't even use the NUS for discounts any-more. Unidays has pretty much everything.

I get 10% off in student shop because of coop discount... Definitely worth the £13 for the card, so not going to complain on that front.

Everything else - yep, I'll complain

The NUS is a cracking example of what happens when Twitter politicians get any kind of executive power.

There can't be too many more parties that need to submit MP lists now.

Don't judge me, I've done too much politics revision today for my reading skills to be anywhere near their usual standard

I am. Playing nasty would be breaking the rules and setting up the by-election thread myself to save you the work

Honestly, just get it to me when you can - I'm not going to rush any internal party processes.
