Agreed. That's all it seems to be!

I love mechanics though, like sketching it all

I used to be reluctant and stubborn

I memorised ASTC in my head as the maths teachers I've had really don't like it. Graphs in general are good to sketch, gives you a general idea of what's going on.

First day done! Only problem I've had is that there are so many Year 12's that there's no seats in the common room and nothing in the shops at lunch. On the plus side, only 10 lessons a week and my biggest class has 9 people in

Decided to drop Physics after a lot of thinking, leaving me with Maths, Further Maths and Politics as my 3 A2's. Which is standard for Politics applicants right?

First day was gr9. My school is ****ed. The computers have been down for days and they didn't have anything that we needed (new timetables etc). New bio teachers are crap.

"Make sure you revise from day one!!!!1!!" Yah okay if that's so important then maybe actually start the syllabus instead of telling us how much work there is????

Snap! I'm so excited for frees this year
    (Original post by Tibbz2)
I think 9 frees would have been fine even for this year, I think 18 is just going to be pretty boring
I have 4 this year! Damn you seven lessons of further maths you

Hey, does anyone know whether oxford gives preference to 5 AS subjects compared to 4? I got AAAA but I didn't do a 5th bc i had some health issues at the end of year 11/start of y12 so I didn't take physics But, I'm going to be taking 4A2s, so is that alright?
That's absolutely fine. Even doing 4 AS subjects and then 3 A2 subjects is more than sufficient for most universities, Oxford included.

I've already had my first breakdown, and I don't think it will be the last either.
This year is going to be such a mess, I can tell.

So, we're still only allowed three frees this year.

The other lessons not filled with actual lessons (if that makes sense?) have to be filled with either supervised study (with a teacher in their free lesson or in the back of one of their classes) or teacher support (helping a teacher with the lower years).

Yes and no, if you get the right teachers you might well end up having a chat rather than working and if you get the right form tutor they might not care if you spend those lessons in the common room.
