Many people have heard (at open days, etc) that if you are predicted AAB or above, you automatically recieve their offer. The difficult part then is meeting their offer of A*A*A2 or A*AA1 (AEA is accepted also).

This is also sort of implied here:

Your UCAS application goes to the University's Student Admissions Office, where it is first considered. (Applications with unusual combinations of subjects are also sent to the Department of Mathematics for further consideration.) If there are no problems (such as not being predicted A in Mathematics and Further Mathematics) the Admissions Office then send you a formal offer in a letter from the Head of Admissions and relay this to UCAS.

In the Physics talk at Warwick on the open day they said if you are predicted 3 A's then they will automatically give you an offer, any idea if this is always true?

I sent my UCAS off on Wednesday and am hoping to hear from them soon

I'm not sure how that'd work... the reason they can afford to give out so many offers for maths is that there would not be too many people that meet it (Standard offer A*A*A2 or A*AA1). On the other hand... the standard offer of AAA for Physics hardly seems too difficult.

Not sure though - perhaps a physics applicant could answer this question better?

It was what the admissions tutor said on the open day... they aim for 180 people and ended up with 185ish people that were predicted 3A's or more and apparently gave them all automatic offers.

Anyone else know if this is right?
