That's a good thing, almost all human decisions are based on an emotion of one sort or the other, and it's not as if what I'm saying is highly illogical. Do you not care about anyone but yourself? If you claim you do because your method would stop suffering then you admit to basing decisions on emotion. If you don't then you're not worth talking to, obviously.

Besides, I'm not saying the way we give aid currently is perfect, I might even be swayed to say that it would be better to give no aid at all than what we give at the moment. I'm saying that the best and kindest solution would be to give far more aid, particularly long-term aid such as education, at the sacrifice of a few luxuries.

If the population of Africa is accelerating at a terrifying rate then something must be done, but how would letting them die off help anyone?
We cannot control the breeding habits of Africans and sex education is a ridiculous idea. We do not have the resources, money or logistics to educated hundreds of millions of people.

Yes we do, across the world, and it could save so much pain. Clearly though, you don't have the ability to empathise.

Besides, we wouldn't need to because if we increased aid then we could speed the country through the stages of development and birthrates would drop, following the general demographic trend. There are corrupt dictators, but with an education Africans would be more aware of this. After this development we would have a countries with the capacity to help us in future. Your method wouldn't help their development as you don't account for what actions should be taken after the majority of the population have suffered horrific deaths. Your argument is cruel, inhumane and illogical.

You're ignoring my arguments because you're so attached to your own opinion.

You have a wildly over simplistic view of the problems in Africa.

I don't, I'm making it simple for you. The only solution is to give aid, no matter the complications. The complications of any other solution are far, far worse.

Of course, If you genuinely don't care about anyone but yourself then you can't be convinced, but then you're hardly human to hold an opinion.

Obvious biological differences between human populations should not be ignored. Whilst the difference between East Asians / Europeans is extremely limited for cognitive measures, there is a serious difference with black populations.

Also East Asia, America and Europe are all conspiring to curb African development, whilst this is a good policy for those of us benefiting from it - I don't see Africa managing to overcome such aggression.

Africa is the chosen battlefield for future proxy wars over resources, this alone will bring ruin to the continent.

I'm pretty sure the OP is talking about the sub-Saharan African regions, not the Arabian/Caucasoid nations of Northern Africa.
If anything the historical prominence of North Africans proves what you're saying about the racial difference with sub-saharan's.

This is the DEBATE forum. I have never and will never see the 'state' of ancient Rome. Would you say a discussion of this society is pointless and a waste of time? :dunce:
you're missing the point. i'm saying a lot of people are misinformed, don't actually know what they're talking about.

Then perhaps you can put your money where your mouth is, engage, and demonstrate how they do not know what they are talking about and how you do. Otherwise you will just look very silly.

because the more well established countries saw it as an easy target to take over that wont retaliate, took all their resources for centuries (the whole land was crawling with diamonds) and when it was bled dry they left it to the natives to deal with.

This argument really disturbs me for myriad reasons, but only one conclusion comes to mind for me - then what?

If, on average, Sub-Saharan Africans are considerably lacking in cognitive ability (at least when compared to other population groups), where does that leave us? What would one propose for a country with a majority 'black' population? Or even for countries with 'black' citizens? How would we put such knowledge to use when concerning education and employment, for example? Should it affect arguably personal issues such as domestic relationships? I've gone a little off-topic here, but either way, I'd really appreciate hearing what solutions you would propose concerning Africa's development situation in light your position on race and intelligence.

I just view it as a sad fact. I don't see why blacks should be treated any differently within societies, although I would personally restrict immigration from black nations in favour of East Asia, I don't have a problem with black people already in the UK or with black nations outside of it. If people want to accuse me of racism I just want to be clear that there is no hatred/contempt from me.

I don't see black development being possible through a capitalist framework because it entails too much competition with much stronger organisations outside of Africa. Socialist Autarky with nationalised land ownership (gives you control of all labour...work for me I will feed you etc) is the only route to progress. You cannot build texile industries when you receive shiploads of very cheap second hand western t-shirts etc. Such aid must be destroyed.* If you disagree with me, consider this. From 2004-2006 the only black billionaire in the entire world was Oprah Winfrey. Also, the average age of a Chinese billionaire is 43 years old. I think you can appreciate the differences between the cultures/races there.

Whole books out there on this issue....but another extremely serious barrier to black development is black identity or rather the complete lack of it. I have noticed black cultures often form identity groupings that are very small in scope, which leads to greater intra-communual violence and civil wars than occurs elsewhere in the world. Just where are the nationalists in black states? I have never heard of a nationalist party in a black state, that may be political ignorance but I think there is something to it. It is why Africans always end up with "big man" politicians, because when there is no fundamental idea to strive towards you are simply left with a self-serving elite. African states need to create a community, the common complaint is that they have boarders that don't reflect ethnic boundaries etc but that simply ignores that ethnic groups are created and develop in countries.

*China/far east has built a texile industry, but only because it sells directly to the western consumer.
*Also note - it is aid that competes with economic development that should be obstructed, not those of advanced goods that Africans cannot produce themselves (medicines etc).
