I'm really not sure what to do tonight, my floor are getting together for an alcohol bin or whatever so I'd like to get out somewhere before that happens. Any one up for anything?

I've taken a look around the SU website, and had a look at all of the colleges. All I'm getting is pictures of raves and packed out bars.

I'm wondering if any current students can settle my concerns that I'm going to a 'freshers uni', and that there really isn't much for students who aren't into that scene. Am I wrong?

I'm sat here fretting that I've accepted the wrong uni, and that I'm gonig to be trapped in the middle of nowhere in an isolated university full of drunk 18 year olds.
You are a typical fresher on tsr :-)

If anybody's worried they can't find county, I could meet people at the Spar and walk them from there in about 10 minutes?

Righto, I'll see you there. Heading off now.

If anybody else is coming- Just follow the spine towards the North end of campus. From the square, walk past Santander, and keep walking up the spine until you get to County. It's not far.

    Edit:
    All events, for those lurking:

That should have been resolved today when you enrolled. Contact your major department. You may have to change your minor if it's a clash between major/minor subjects, and if the clash lasts for a while.
I guess ill have to speak with the department to see what can be done.

Also the cinema has been showing Iron Man 3 all week if you haven't already seen it.

Nothing looks that interesting though so I'll probably just stay in tonight, unless someone comes up with something.

There is a "mocktail/cocktail" making event tonight which is sure to be a good social activity that isn't centred around getting drunk! It's in Grizedale bar too which is really nice

I suggest you give it another week and see if it calms down a bit, don't judge them by their week long extravaganza, I have a very similar problem.
