I see that as a stereotype, honestly i believe for an action to be racist it must have the intent of inflicting malicious harm to be existent
fair enough. racism as a word gets banded about so much now days anyway that tbh i just dont even take the world its self that seriously anymore until i have reference myself.

Yeah if they feel that looks nice, whats it got to do with you?

They might be, I still don't understand why its your business. You aren't talking about the white girls who walk around with weave, or the asian girls or anything like that. Solely focusing on the black girls. If a white girl gets extensions, its just beauty but if a black girl does it suddenly they hate themselves?

Its not a serious problem, its about as serious as the problem of make-up, or fake tan or heels or push-bras. Its just one of the many things girls do to make them look nicer. If you have problem with girls doing stuff to make themselves look better or to make themselves feel more comfortable thats another issue but don't act like black girls are all self-hating traitors.

I'm not going to lie and say black girls don't try to emulate western culture by using weaves, contouring their noses etc but I don't necessarily think that means they hate their blackness. I don't think its that big of a deal. Its like European people who try emulate Japanese culture, they think something looks nice so they do it themselves. If I think long hair looks nice and I want to have long hair, I don't see the problem? That doesn't mean I want to be white or that I hate being black, I'm just adopting part of the western image that I like. Just like how some European will wear tribal print clothes, doesn't mean that they want to be part of an African tribe, they just like tribal print so decide to wear it because they view it trendy. We all adopt stuff from eachothers cultures.

They might be, I still don't understand why its your business. You aren't talking about the white girls who walk around with weave, or the asian girls or anything like that. Solely focusing on the black girls. If a white girl gets extensions, its just beauty but if a black girl does it suddenly they hate themselves?

Yeah compare like the 5 percent of white or asian women that wear hair that matches their own hair texture to the like 90 plus percent of black women wearing asian hair.
    Smart.
    /
    anyway
If you cant see the psychological affect this has on black people and black women in general you are lost.
If after reading everything i said, you think this is normal behaviour you are lost and there is nothing more i can say to you.
just watch the video i posted innit.

Actually it does, thats cause hostility breeds hostility, a guy who gets shut down by a black girl because he isn't black will consciously or unconsciously begin to avoid and make unappealing black girls

    The keyword is some.
Yes Some do but most dont. This whole "protective style and "growing the hair out" for the most part is nonsense because black women are "protecting and growing their hair out 24/7 .
It really isn't nonsense. Until you are a woman, you can't understand. What's wrong with protecting and growing out 24/7 anyway? Afro hair tends to grow much slower than Caucasian hair anyway, so who can blame us for wearing weaves - short hair doesn't suit everyone.

so your calling me ignorant and judgemental and then being ignorant and judgemental?

let me guess you havent noticed how you are being so?

you've just said i read a few studies met a few people and think i know everything about everyone int he world.

    thats totally judgemental and incorrect.

    i never claimed that.

i have my own personal judgements from my own experiences.

also buddhism is about trying to fight our nature. buddhist dont just stop being judgmental or doing negative things cause their a buddhist.

they have a goal they strive for.

even the dalai lama has admitted he has faults in this way. but he remains self control goes back meditates and extinguishes those fires within himself.

so youve also wrongly and ignorantly judged buddhism by not being aware that they have goals to strive for rather than just happening to cure themselves of negativity by default of worshiping their religion.

they all strive for enlightenment it doesnt meant they get it.

    1. What would be the race you like to date from the most and why

Truthfully, I would date women of any race as long as we were compatible. However, as a black man, I'm probably more compatible, and comfortable, with black women from a similar cultural background as me.

    2. What would be the race you'd like to date from the least and why

Errm, I said before that I'd date girls of any race as long as we're compatible. However, I think it's unlikely I'll ever date an East Asian girl.

    3. A bit personal- Your opinion of black girls (Be totally honest, I'm here to learn
    not judge)

Lovely! Most are very confident, intelligent and outspoken. That said, I disliked most of the black girls I was acquainted with in my school as they were very gossipy - and unattractive to me as a result. Obviously, being gossipy is not something specific to black women.

    4. During a study I conducted I found that many people believed caucasian guys did not like dating black girls, is this true, for those that would say yes, why.

Probs true. I don't know the reason for this, maybe it's just due to how they perceive black women to be like - loud, rowdy etc. Might be due to media or just not being around black girls enough to understand that black girls are just as diverse as any other race. It could also be that they feel that they might be judged by their families if they date someone black. Or maybe they fear that there are cultural differences that would undermine any relationship. There's probably a detailed study addressing this particular question somewhere

I chose to be anonymous for my personal reason, you can think of it however you want.

    Anecdotal insult: Check
    Accusation: Check
    Assumption: Check
    Ad hominem: Check
Argumentum ad populum based on your perceived assumption which you think is fact: Check

I won't state my "race", which is what you want  because "race" is a social construct and I am a Christian, as one, we are not supposed to categorise people by their "race" because we are all made in God's image. You could choose to laugh at this, due to tsr being mostly filled with atheists but I don't really care.
no but im guessing your referencing the fact that your a christian to back up your non racist credentials? you do know that the KKK is protestant (thats christian) group?

    (Original post by Anonymous)
I don't have any hangups about someone's "race", seems simplistic but we all have red blood and during a blood transfusion to save a person's life, only the blood type matters, not the donor's "race" (How I despise that stupid "race" term).
you despise race as a term, yet your the one that brought race up by saying "I also think 'preference" is racist'"

    (Original post by Anonymous)
I for one, do not have a preference and no I am not being dishonest, I hate dishonesty. Well, I put blonde hair because it suits my skin colour the most out of other colours of hair type. And it is ridiculous that you and everyone else assume a person is "racially ambiguous and less black" for it. Next, you will be telling me that anyone with a lighter skin tone is not black, I beg to differ because members of my family who are not mixed have a lighter skin tone with grey and blue'green eyes and they are 100% black from mother Africa. Just because it is rare does not mean it can't occur. I know it is off topic but wanted to state that anyways.
its not ridiculous. its ridiculous that you think people shouldnt think that. just curious. do you think you having blonde hair looks natural on you?

blacks a very subjective term and the argument about what black means as a social group terminology will probably never stop being argued about.

personally i think black is a new world colonial term for slaves. i dont think any africans referred to themselves as blacks before then. whereas white people who didnt care if you were zulu or ashanti would think your all black. then after systematic rape, forced breeding and having families separated people all mish mashed together and lost their culture and eventually the only thing that signified them as a group was the fact that they were black. and then you have the 1 drop black rule which is from slavery too. so even if you are mixed you can say your black. even if your white but have black in you your black. etc.

anyway i never said black people couldnt have different colour eyes. its rare but not unheard of. i have never however seen a black person who naturally had hair like shakira.

    (Original post by Anonymous)
Caucasian and japanese girls "perm" their hair to make it straight and nothing is said about it. If the blonde hair suits one skin tone and is not tacky, I see no problem with it. I for one could care less about what other people think of the hair colour I have on my hair, because it is not only one's hair, but one's life at the end of the day and living your life to please others doesn't grant one satisfaction.
yea but it looks natural on them. most of them have straight hair. and i've never heard of japanese girls perming their hair i would of thought they just needed to go over their hair once or twice with straighteners and get the same effect. but meh... wouldnt surprise me people waste all sorts of money on things.

for your hair to "suit" your skin tone what do you mean by "suit" do you mean it has to look natural? or could you have bright blue hair and it just "suits" you.

at the end of the day yea if your ashamed of your natural state i assume your insecure and dont want to date you.

just like i dont like dating girls who cake makeup on. i can understand the odd experiment. its fun to dress up and all that so i understand it. but when i meet a girl with loads of make up on i assume she feels ugly without it and is therefore insecure with her natural self.

Just because you have relationships with black girls or with black people does not make you "enlightened", educated or whatever about black people. Until you are black yourself, you won't understand what it means being black. As the parable goes "'Only the wearer knows where the shoe pinches". You have some hang ups about black girls/people even though you think of yourself as being liberal and not "racist" for having relationships with them, do sort them out. Last time I checked, one can still be racist even though they have "black" friends, not that I am calling you a "racist" I was just stating a fact.
never said it did. but i guess you take issue with my opinion and are trying to accuse me of position my self as an authority on something that has nothing to with me. which would be a strong argument for you if it was true. but i don't claim to be an enlightened educated authority on any matter. i just have an opinion based off my understanding and my experiences. once more i never claimed i new what it was like to be black. but i had a feeling this would come. it usually does. its a bit of a pointless statement though cause i dont think anyway can claim to know what its like to be in another persons shoes. but people always try to bring the shutters down on discussions by saying 'you dont know what its like, so shut up". which just makes me think you have weak points and arguments.

i dont try and sell my self as liberal. i have complex views and opinions. im not as boring as people like tyrion who claim to be a left wing peace bringer from the golden gates of justice and equality.

i'd also like to know what hang ups you think i have about black girls/people. not saying i dont have them. im just curious if you actually have anything there to back yourself up on that claim or if you just feel emotional and defensive cause i would be put me off dating you because of you because of your hair. which is basically what this is all about. i would think your hair choice of hair makes you insecure. people generally dont like admiting insecurities cause it makes them look weak. so even though you say your not insecure i'd see the choice you made. make a guess and you'd points on the attractive score. from my point of view anyway. which is the point in this thread. the OP was asking our point of view on dating preferences.

and yes i mentioned in an earlier post that just because you socialise with people and have sex with people does not mean you respect them.

on a personal note i feel i do respect black people. i plan on marrying and having children with a women of african descent. but i dont want her screwing up my daughters head with her own insecurities. hence my choices and preference. i want my daughter to be comfortable in her own skin and love her self. and not to feel like she has to mess around and change her appearance from the way god made her.

NB: To Caucasian boys, the black girls I see (personally speaking, and not fact), could care less about how a person of a certain race thinks about them . Although there are some black girls that do have a "preference" for them. Just because you find many black girls making threads about being attracted to Caucasian boys, does not make this the norm.
yea but lets be real know. i dont like it myself but lets be honest here. you dont find books by white guys called "how to get a black women" but you do find books from black women called "how to get a white man"

you see theres a problem with that.
