# OCR Physics A Breadth of Physics (24th May 2016) Discussion watch

1. (Original post by dididid)
why do you have to be in isolation?
Both exams are morning exams so I do one first than isolation than one in the afternoon

Same, I got an A* last year without batting an eyelid, but this year I feel completely out of my depth.
I feel so lost with it all

Last part of question 1 anybody?
You can say the strength of the electric field E = v/d

So in this case 2500/0.09 = (250000/9)

We can then say F = ma
qE = ma

Therefore a = qE/m

= ((1.6x10^-19)x(250000/9))/(9.11x10^-31)

Giving a value of 4.88 x 10 ^15 ms^-2
which is approximately 5 x 10^15 ms^-2

Is this for AS physics? I never went through the electron mass rest
8. Can anyone tell me the actual differences between breadth and depth in terms of content? I've done the breadth practice papers but left the depth ones as I assumed I'm not being assessed on it until June, but it's just occurred to me that if the content is the same maybe I should do it

I do

Well I definitely know it's 80+ % for Bio and Chem, but I thought physics was lower as it's harder?

Anyway that's what I'm prayin' for
The grade boundaries for all sciences will be set after everyone's performance in the exams is assessed so there is no way anyone could know what the grade boundaries will be yet
11. Made this yesterday, might be of some use to you all

13. Right, so it's evident that quite a large number of people want the G482 paper, so I'll just post it here xD

That question isn't in the AS spec but you need to know about electron rest mass, so you can calculate the velocity of a single electron from an electron gun given its accelerating pd.
17. Who's not ready for the exam?

Do you have mechanics as well?

65060093[/url]]It's a real AS level exam. It might not contribute to your final A level grade, but if you don't continue the course into Y13 this will produce a real, official qualification. Of course it will be moderated, UMS'd and properly graded.
So if I am dropping physics and not carrying on in year 13, this grade I get this year matters and I will get an AS grade in physics which I will have to submit onto my record?
25. all nighter and redbulls atm
