    I disagree with point 5.

    Firstly, Eastern Europeans are White,

Secondly, having mixed race children isn't bad, at all. Don't judge someone for having a mixed race child. It's their child, not yours.
Firstly, Eastern European are from all racial background just like British people. Read a history book on European history it would educate you on this fact.

Secondly, I believe it a great that white working class ladies are statistic most likely to have mixed children. It shows they get along with other cultures and are able to live with people from different countries.

Proven?! You pulled that out your ass. Not to any degree is that proven. It may exist. And because you've seen it on line, doesn't mean you know its proportion in all cases.
I know this isn't proof but I have multiple family members working in varying levels in the housing part of their local councils. They come home almost everyday with a new story of someone who is getting a council house and living on benefits despite mysteriously owning flash cars or going on expensive international holidays. Best one recently is the women who didn't turn up to her court hearing (for not paying rent) because she was in the Caribbean on holiday. They also consistently talk about the amount of drug addicts in their properties, how everyone smokes but fail to pay their rent (because obviously **** are more important then a roof over you and your child's head) and how they've had to turn away vulnerable people because their homes are full of lazy time wasters

You dislike the working-class being overly generalised yet go on to generalise the whole of the middle-class. Because they're not at all wide ranging.

    And I'm working class.

    Reason Why
    1) their amoral e.g smoking weed at university
2)They believe their children are more intelligent than working class children
3)They buy houses by the best performing schools so their children will get a place
4)They look down on people who live in social housing
5)they call working class white people racist & xenophobic. When the white work class work in low skilled jobs with Eastern Europeans. Also are more likely to have mixed race children.
This is quite interesting, I was looking up this topic, hence the thread age.

I see what you are getting at to some extent, although a bit perplexed by the mixed race thing, I thought that was much more working class, certainly amongst the white/Afro caribbean couples.

But I do really hate that combination of decadence and snobbery, that you mention, ie smoking weed(and doing many things) all for show etc, seeming quite spoilt, wanting to judge people for being wild enough, whilst never going down the route that wrecks lives in poorer people, and being ruthless to get ahead, looking down on people also, whilst often having a lot of pretensions about their own intelligence. They are also inverted snobs about more proper people above them in class who have better values, are less pretentious yet more genuinely intellectual, and show lower classes more respect, and those who are more grateful and humble with their position, and who are less vulgar about money (the types more secure in their position).

I think tbh this is not the higher end of middle class people you describe, although they'd think they were. I went to school with folk like this.

These days, I think the British middle class - particularly those on the left - increasingly seek to emulate behaviours typically associated with the underclass. Hideous tattoos, piercings, drugs, binge-drinking, sexual promiscuity, dressing like trash, and rampant swearing have all been embraced by certain sections of the middle class as a way of showing their (insincere) solidarity with the underclass.

good points at 3 and 5. :beard:

But the real plot twist is that I know people claiming benefits with homes paid for by council or benefits they claim whilst in middle class areas. So that's what bugs me about middle classers, they are pretentious elitist hypocrits when it counts but then swing back into being jealous of working classmen because of their representation from the gov't. and say its the middle classers who "lose out" on help. It's like do you look down on it or do you wanna be apart of it? It's the thin line between being a poor person in reality while middle classed on paper, and being a working classmen who gets by.

The tensions that can exist between people just because of their social background are... just sad. Because it's unfounded.

I'm in a rather unique position in that I'm on a sub £15k income in a single parent family, yet I go to a private school (full academic and music scholarship) so I mingle with middle class people as well as other people like me. Yes, a couple of the rich ones look down on us because of our background etc, but tbh I couldn't give less of a ****, because they are vapid, pathetic, and insignificant people. (Also because they're the ones that become complacent and get rubbish GCSEs and have to leave at sixth form lolllll). However, there are far more 'rich ones' who honestly don't care, and are very happy to be friends with me, and don't judge in the slightest.

In conclusion, there is little correlation between social class and propensity to be twit. You can have muppets from all across the income spectrum.

The fact that some are willing to call an entire section of society amoral is a rather sad indictment of the state of UK politics

-There are people taking drugs (at uni) in every social class
-On average, it may be true
-Nothing wrong with caring about education
-They have done something wrong if they need the gvt to pay for their housing, unless they are disabled or old.
-A large part of the working class is xenophobic and voted Brexit only because they thought it would stop migration.

I do have to say he does have some points here. My experience with the middle class is that they tend to be equally as stuck up as the upper class and try to relate to the working class despite a lot of them private schooling their children. A lot of the middle class are champagne socialist tree hugger Antifa type of people.

Whatever happened to remembering your routes my auntie and uncle grew up in working class families, had a few lucky breaks and are now middle class they look down there noses at us, in contempt. God forbid there kids speaking slang they got slapped despite my uncle coming from the poorest, *****iest area in our home town the middle class are hypocrite more than anything in my opinion. At least some of the higher class people like us such as some business men, who opened a company and became rich but was raised in a working class area-they understand our struggles while the middle class use hypocrisy in a lot of cases to hold us in contempt

Down to brexit- why did the working class vote brexit? Mass migration of 250-300,000 per year for every doctor you may have 5000 manual workers which drives down wages they have lower wage demands and often work cash in hand below NLW/NMW even one of the main union bosses conceded unskilled migration keeps wages down.

I'm not particularly apologetic about the middle class but I think the OP was a bit vacuous, his criticism wasn't too accurate.

These are especially annoying. I agree with you. I grew up in a working class family and although I am middle class now, I don't identify with them in any way whatsoever.

They tend to be closed off and look down on minorities themselves while the working class white people are the ones that are more genuine and actually have the minorities and 'foreigners' integrate. The bougie white middle class live in their own bubble.

Did the local Iceland not give you an interview well no one want to employ an adult child like you who turn up later. By the why I a support worker and love my job. Go home and smoke weed and go traveling like the adult child you are.

Let's pretend that all those statements apply to all middle class kids.

    1) smoking weed isn't amoral, in fact its ironic that you criticise them for looking down on you when you look down on them for smoking weed. Their choice

    2) 2 plausible explanations for this, nature and nurture, while not necessarily tying to income, smarter parents have smarter kids. Also key developmental issues will be addressed sooner and more assistance at school would mean mc kids are "smarter". its not fair, but I'd want my kids to be smarter too.

    3) Can't really blame them for that either, a lot of middle class young people want to change the system and make it more fair, if working class people vote for an MP who supports keeping top schools top and **** schools **** its not mc kids fault - you shouldn't have voted for him

    4) No, they don't, they look down on people they perceive have drank, smoked and gambled their money away. They'd be supportive of people their for legit reasons (mental health, job loss etc) but yes, they may complain about paying money for those houses.

    5) The EDL is racist and exclusively working class. Since we're applying broad strokes its fair to say that yes, EDL is racist.
