Because you know whats going on in the refs mind. Arrogant much. It doesn't change the fact the pen was a pen and would always be given does it now.
Oh get real it's obvious such a blunder would knock any referee and influence him.

Get real it made no difference, was still a pen.

If he thought the first one was a dive, surely he'd have been more likely to think the second one was, too?

Anyway, that's pretty pointless considering the fact that it rightfully was a pen. You call Theo a **** after being needlessly honest in his admission that the first incident was a dive, yet are bemoaning the fact that the ref made the right call after? :facepalm2:

Clearly it did. If that incident didn't happen it would have been brushed aside. If it had no effect why would Walcott feel the need to apologist for the dive if he didn't feel it influenced anything?

By the way good shot from Arshavin. As 3rd in the premier league you must be so proud. :p:

Deffo not, I think the excitement for the Leeds goal was genuine as that goal was simply superb, do you expect the commentator to react like that to all goals?
I'm not talking about their goal. When we scored our first, the commentator seemed dissappointed....

        (Original post by Genocidal)
Well naturally. When a team in a higher division scores against a team in a lower division, who cares? It's to be fully expected but it's not expected the other way around because everybody loves an underdog from a neutral point of view.

Because he knew it influenced him. And in normal cases he could think the second one was a dive but after calling a penalty then humiliatingly walking over to the linesman and changing his mind in front of a crowd the size of Arsenal's of course he is going to be knocked by that.

And even if Walcott did apologise I would still call him a **** because the intent was still there clearly.

Maybe but then again from a neutral point of view you nearly always want to see the upset.

Well that's why arshavin doesn't make the 1st team at the moment.

You're wrong, it had no effect, the pen was obviously legit if the ref hadn't have given it it would have been a mistake. And walcott apologised with a misguided sense of honour that he shouldn't have bothered with because 99% of other footballers (including leeds and arsenal) never would have.
