just to clarify something, in work-energy questions, i know that change in energy = work done by resistance. but how do you figure out change in energy; sometimes its GPE-KE and sometimes its the other way round? Does it depend what energy is gained/lost?
It depends... if you have a diagram you just gotta think about it logically and identify what the question's telling you. For example if a person starts from the top of a slide and ends at the bottom, he's lost GPE and gained KE. So energy loss would be GPE - KE.

Alternatively, if an object has moved up a hill but has decreased speed then it's gained GPE and lost KE. So energy loss would be KE - GPE. It depends on the scenario given.

hah, I've done A2 FM, and I was genuinely bamboozled!

Until I realised it was a typo, that is

Lol it's bit of FP2, and yes, I can't typr
    Neither can !
Just casually reading talks about 100 ums whilst struggling to get even 60 marks after like 20 past papers :ashamed:

^ I just said neither can 'exclamation mark' :L I meant neither can I!

I'll beat your school's current record holder if I somehow get straight 100s for all maths modules I'm doing this exam session
    She got 600/600 in Further...

    (Original post by joostan)
    Lol - you'll manage.

Perhaps you should have retaken C1, Mr "I don't believe in calculators"
Retaking C1 after doing all of the harder modules would be a recipe for disaster, I think.

(And you sound just like my teachers. It doesn't what I got on C2 and C3, that C1 result will always haunt me...)

ah that makes sense now, seeing it as energy loss. thanks

Good luck with that. I've not managed either, although I can still get up to 595 in Maths and 577 in Further.

What exams have you got this summer, and what have you got so far? I have C4, FP2, FP3, M4, M5, S3, S4, G495, and all three STEP papers. The 100% modules I have so far are:

    - C2
    - C3
    - FP1
    - M1
    - M3
    - G492
    - G494
    - G496 (This is the practical coursework for A2)

I've beaten the schools record-holder if Physics is included (As they didn't get any 100%'s in Physics/Chemistry) but otherwise I need 3 more out of the 7 exams I'm taking. Will be interesting to see what I actually manage to get...

I am truly amazed that you uber maths geniuses managed to not get 100ums in C1, and I did :ahee:

Hah sorry, anywaayyy can someone look at this for me?

I had a cheeky look at the mark scheme and it uses substitution... I never would've thought to do that. Is there not another way to do it?

Edit: come on guys, C1 is practically my only notable mathematical achievement :emo:

It's of the form f'(x)[f(x)]^n. Does that help?
