The way American politics is trivialised on TV is - borderline - annoying.

It's constant adverts of one congress hopeful ****ging off another and vice-versa. It changes the whole tone of politics.

I can understand why anti-establishment figures ( such as Trump ) seem more in the norm than in the UK.

Jeremy Hunt rejects cross party agreement from Dan Poulter and Heidi Alexander. Strike to go ahead.
It's a personal thing for him. I think that now he's working in his own interests. He wasn't great before now I think it's a step too far.

What a peculiar video this is...
    What did I just watch?

I believe that nature is wonderful, but it won't solve every issue we face! That video was actually a bit creepy.

The Natural Law Party was a way of buying air time for the yogic enthusiasts.

You mean the support of people with a gun to their head being told "support this"

Masked men at any funeral is something I hope we never see again.
It wasn't a funeral and they weren't masked per se.
The parade also wasn't connected with the splinter republican groups, the RSF split from the CIRA years ago.

And as usual, the typical overblown reaction by unionists who seem to forget that some of their own MLAs attend UDA parades and commemorations.

EDIT: I don't mean you btw

Phone banking is so much more dull than canvassing, especially four hours worth of it... didn't even get the pizza we were promised, infact a cllr had to buy us food in the end which was just disappointing by london office

Surely now canvassing could make a comeback- knocking door to door is now not done by Jehovah's Witnesses any more, nor doorstep sales people, so the door might actually be answered.

Me and my group are out pretty much every weekend in the run up to the mayoral election canvassing, but this week they had us manning the phones. Funnily enough though talking about doors being answered we get a pretty high number, very few people won't answer, most houses that don't answer are simply empty

I thought the Jehovahs Witnesses now handed out booklets at stations and by shops- or is that just a London policy? They will not be reading this though as they abstain from political activity including voting.

I think it's fair to say that all American politics on TV falls under infotainment, if not pure entertainment these days, and it's not just that because those fools really and honestly cheer for those muppets and believe their PR stunts. In the US, money win elections.

There is a reason I only did it once, but canvassing, either in person or on the telephone, isn't really canvassing anymore.

I do it properly, door to door, come in for a chat, have a cuppa tea. Especially with the older people, much more old fashioned.
