I'm in-service and already based in Cambridge too I'm guessing there will be a few of us from different specialisms doing rotations in Addenbrooke's!
Ah what specialism are you doing?

Seems like the competition for Resp/Sleep wasn't quite as high as other specialisms. I got 48 - Shortlist, 44 - Interview, 4 - Interview Rank.
Hello, please what are your qualifications? I am considering applying next year, so trying to figure out the relevant degrees. Thank you.

I'm here already - my house is close to Addenbrooke's and my lab is towards Papworth so I'm sure we'll cross paths! If you need any advice on where to live I'll be happy to help

Ahhh awesome! Advice on where to live would be great! I have no Idea but i'm really excited to move (if a little sad to be leaving London haha)

I don't think there's a score cut off, they just take the top (3 x number of posts) applicants. So if there are 10 posts, the top 30 people get an interview, so essentially where the cut off lies depends on the quality of the applications from other applicants.

Reproductive Science I think the genetics, cytology and histology rotations will probably be at Addenbrooke's! I hope they are anyway because that's the closest hospital for me...
I know there are three reproductive science people based in Cambridge this year too, so there will be a few of us

    Shortlist 55/69, Interview 44/50, Rank 9 for Genomics x

Shortlist 50/69, interview 42/50 and rank 16 for genomics
I have a place on genomics with a shortlist score of 56/60, 41/50 for interview and rank 20, just shows how tight some of the ranking is (and how rubbish I am at interviews!); it is encouraging for those who just missed out on a place though, don't give up hope for next time!

Can someone please tell me what offers rank really means ? Clinical Engineering has 8 positions and my rank is 9. Does that mean I am the first one on the reserve list? Maybe there is still hope. will be absolutely gutted to be missing the offer just by 1 position.

I have a 1st in Biomedical Science and I was finishing my MPhil in Cardiovascular Medicine throughout this year's application cycle.
I had 2 years experience in respiratory clinical trials and 2 years working in cardiovascular clinical research (Mainly in stroke research - specifically), I have a few publications with my name to them. I'm probably one of the older brackets of applicants as I am 25.

Wow you have so much experience! I'm 27 and have done pretty much nothing related except for a BSc and a tiny bit of volunteering!

Wow! Thanks for that detailed response. I would have expected a lot higher shortlist score with your qualification and experience, but I guess they know how they arrived at that. All that matters is you got in! Congrats!

Cheers! In terms of shortlisting scores I suppose its how you write the application as much as your experience itself. This was the first time I had applied so I was probably winging it abit with the written application. It was super hard trying to condense answers down into 200 words whilst maintaining what you think are the most important points.

People can hold offers for upto a week. So if offers went out on Monday they can be held until 16th May. For offers that went out on Monday they can be held until the 18th!
