I agree. I did my UKCAT last year and was getting 400s in the MEDIFY mock and got 757.5 in the real thing.

Did you practise more questions instead of doing mocks or continued to do more mocks from medify? A couple of my recent medify mock results are crushing my confidence

Hi thanks for your response. My daughter will be applying to Scottish universities. What is Bmat? Will this help with Scottish universities? Many thanks 😃

    (Original post by studentsixth)
Has she considered sitting the BMAT? This will open her up to universities that won't take the UKCAT into consideration and that instead. She should aim to apply to universities that don't look solely at the UKCAT or don't have a specific cut off score.

Don't let the mock scores scare you. I just kept practicing questions and did another mock. Practice practice practice.

Idk much about kaplan but defo start off with the 1000q book i would say. Once u have got into the mind frame of how the questions are, buy medify.
I think medify is quite good although i havent done the actual exam yet but appaz its similar to the real thing.
ps some of the QR questions in the 1000q i found horrible omg
thanks and also omg yes there's no time for the QR questions aaah

Just look up the requirements for each Scottish uni to see whether or not they require the BMAT. The BMAT is an entrance exam like the UKCAT but is taken on 2nd of November and some uni's require it instead of the UKCAT

My 5/36 on QR says it all really
    Hi Imarrable

With the QR make sure you are familiar with the on screen calculator and that you use the calculator with the keyboard for speed. It is really important to practise this a lot.

Also look for hard questions and skip them straight away there is little point in wasting your time.
I would say that if the question is hard to understand, the data you need is complex or there are many stages to the calculation, then that is a hard question and worth skipping.

Guess the answer when you move on as there is no negative marking. Then make sure that you flag for review in case you get extra time later.

    Hope that helps!

I didn't think the 80%=800 method was accurate so I did it by finding the decimal value of your score I.e. 12/36=0.333333..
Then multiply by 600 and add 300 to it

From my experience medify is by far the closest to the real thing, QR and AR are pretty much identical in difficulty to the real thing, VR is easier on medify because in the real thing you seem to get more passages than true/false/cant tell questions.
I always felt the official UKCAT mocks are more difficult in QR and AR and the same for VR to the real thing.
1000Q book in my opinion is not worthwhile (if its anything like the 600q book) as its just to hard.
