People saying it was easy :cry2:
EVERY single person i spoke to said it was terrible- even the retakes!
    Even my teacher!

That was the most disgusting paper I have ever done. Edexcel screwed us over

checked with my friends and decide to put these down before I forget... :llama:

    - a= -48, b = -96 (might have mixed them up, can't remember)
    - Factorise f(x) = 3(2x+1)(x-4)(x+4)
    - common ratio: 8/9, first term = 18, n = 28
    - Area of graph = 226 sq. units
    - Perimeter = 40.9 cm; Area = 96.7 cm^2
    - the minimum cost for the cylinder is 483 pounds
    - Angles from tan: pi/9, 4pi/9, 7pi/9; angles from cos: 0. 139, 221 (3 s.f.)

Hope they are correct! Waiting for Arsey's unofficial mark scheme though hahahaaa
Same. Just that I didn't take 3 put of the bracket. Feeling regret a little bit now

It wasn't as bad as I thought it may be, but it was definitely harder than some of the Solomon papers. Lots of candidates said they missed questions so I expect lower grade boundaries.

I found this easier than C1 and easier than the mock paper (we had June 2014 R paper). Despite me doing more exam paper practice on C1, I found this easier because the wording on C1 was really confusing. This was more straight forward if you knew most of the content.

How did you get minimum cost 483? I got something like 11000 lol...
dC/dr and just substitute r into it
    should have found r = 2.92 (3 s.f.)

    (Original post by tayloryeah)
    How did you get 226?
integrate both sections using the curve, should either did 192+34 or 162+64

You have to add the integrated areas separately which adds up to 226

I did do it separately, I got 32 for the first value and 164 for the other

I'd say this was an average paper. Definitely not Solomon level but hardly simple. Easier than C1 for sure

How many marks will I lose for not using the quadratic formula to find cosx in terms of k and for forgetting to sub r =2.94... Back into the cost formula?
