Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is what I be reading at the moment.
I'm trying to avoid reading anything new after this one because it'll only distract me from doing the stacks of revision I desperately need to get started on. It's hard not to, though, when you have a bunch of books waiting for you on the bookshelf just screaming to be read...
Beloved ~ Toni Morrison.
Found it hard to get into at first but I'm plodding through and it's quite an intriguing story.
Just finished 'Port Mungo'. Not my favourite book, as I positively disliked the main characters. Got better as it went on.
Now reading 'The Inheritance of Loss'. Seems good so far.
Just started reading a book called @ London Fields by Martin Amis, no idea how it is going to be? becuase this is my first book that I am about to read under this author.
One about music and theology, called 'Music and Theology'. ;yes;
Just finished up Animal Farm. I feel behind the times because most people in my school read it in Year 8 while I was stuck with Refugee Boy (Benjamin Zephaniah). Oh well, it was a good read.
Going to move on in the morning though. I had a 'consignment' of books arrive yesterday, so I think I'll get cracking through them. First on my list, and thinnest (because of exams, and being forced to read Peter Ho Davies' The Welsh Girl, when it arrives, for 'literary society'), Robinson Crusoe.
Snakehead by Anthony Horowitz.
The Mysteries of Udolpho. I started it today, and have high hopes for it. Although the first 3 or 4 pages of description were a bit grating to read.
The Book of Dave by Will Self
Its a bit of a weird book really. Got a good supply of books for xmas though. Has anyone read any of the following and if so what do they think of them.
The Raw shark texts - Steven Hall
A Spot of Bother - Mark Haddon
Dissolution - C.J Sansom
Heart Shaped Box - Joe Hill
Ghostwritten- David Mitchell
Black Swan Green- David Mitchell
The Riders- Tim Winton
Arundhati Roy - The God of Small Things.
Just started "The Last Legion" by Manfredi.
