Heh, same, though I did like the movie of Pride and Prejudice, so I assume that Austen did tell some decent stories, I just don't like how she told them.
Yes. It's really great. Quite long, but needs to be long really.

Bel Canto by Ann Patchett.

Saw it in a bargain book shop. Never heard of the author or title but it had won the Pen/Faulkner Award and the Orange Prize for Fiction and it was only £2 so I thought I'd give it a go.

Turns out it's amazing. Really well written and completely captivating. I would definitely recommend it.
