I'm reading We by Yevgeny Zamyatin. I recently finished Nineteen Eighty-Four and wanted to read something that was more controversial and yet still similar. I don't think it's as good, but I'm being open-minded, and continuing anyway.

Just reading Freakonomics, which is a really interesting and unique take on the application of economics theory to more relatable every day questions. Now i am starting off by reading Hamlet, to help me get a little bit more prepared for my English Language and Literature A2 course.

Last week I finished reading Girl With a Pearl Earring, read the whole of Brokeback Mountain, and a fair bit of Boris Johnson's "The Dream of Rome". My private reading has now come crashing down with the arrival of a letter from my soon-to-be tutor at university. I'm now reading the Herodotus Histories.

I found it hard not to enjoy 'The Monk', it's just so cheap and trashy. 'The Waves' is a little self-indulgent for me - I just want to give Bernard a good slap most of the time.
